Bad Quality BedAnonymous reviewerWe bought this last year, we thought it was going to be solid/ strong bed but the reality is, it is very flimsy and it broke easily. Every night now we go to bed the sought of part of the bed is dropping down on the floor is dreadful. We're looking into buying a new bed now. We would not recommend it at all.1
Comfortable bedAnonymous reviewerIt’s definitely a two man job, but regardless a comfortable bed ! I have had the displeasure of hitting my leg on the side and it hurts alot but regardless it’s an amazing bed ! Make sure u have a decent size mattress otherwise you may feel like your sleeping on the floor with how low it is5
EXCELLENTAnonymous reviewerSo easy to assemble, it's sturdy and looks amazing with some LED USB lights stuck on to the back of the headboard. It looked really well in store but at home it's even better.5
stupid design. avoid if you want something that can be easily dismantledAnonymous reviewerim not sure what drugs the designers were on but they decided the side railings that hold the slats should be longer than needed wasting metal and also blocking the cam locks in 2/3 height positions. avoid poorly designed ikea beds. you need to remove the entire side rail to get access to the cam lock when they could just make these rails shorter so you can just access them. disassembly should be just 2 screws and unlocking the 8 cam locks. instead you need to take the whole bed apart.1
Pretty solid, looks good, bit squeaky.Anonymous reviewerHad this for a couple of years. Pretty simple to put together (you can just about make do building by yourself but ideally need two people). Looks good, simple design and build quality is reasonable. Only downside is after a while it starts to squeak/creak at the headboard end when you move.4
Dreadful squeaksAnonymous reviewerLovely looking bed though took time to assemble. Been used for a couple of months and the squeaking is dreadful. Can be heard in other rooms. Very disappointed as bought other furniture to match as well.1
Great bed base & stylishAnonymous reviewerI got this to match a mattress - it helps with figment and guarantees too. It matched the malm items that I already have5
Oak veneer bedAnonymous reviewerGood quality, nice looking bed5
Colour of woodAnonymous reviewerI felt the colour of the veneer was darker and more orangey than expected3
Noisy and annoying slatsAnonymous reviewerThis bed was lovely when we first bought it. We’ve now the issue of it making so much noise every time we move, the slats fall through the bed every night without fail. Started at one side and now it’s started doing it on both side’s. All the fittings and fixing are tight and how they should be. This is a nightmare bed to sleep in and fix every day to ensure slats are in place.2
Good solid bedAnonymous reviewerBought the upgraded bed slats after reading earlier reviews, they are fine and no issues with bed.5
Beautiful and easy to assemblyAnonymous reviewerA lovely sized bed which is easy to assemble and very nice addition to the bedroom, so nice I bought two! 5
Malm bed Anonymous reviewerAbsolutely love this so easy to put together 5
Great looking, but.......Anonymous reviewerReally pleased with the looks etc. but the dreaded squeaking Is getting worse. Is there a simple solution? We have the upgraded slats, purchased 09/24.3
Nice bedAnonymous reviewerEasy to assemble, quality good highly recommend 5
Happy teen Anonymous reviewerBed was easy to build and looks well in a teen bedroom 5
Brilliant Anonymous reviewerNone 5
Doesn't stop squeaking Anonymous reviewerReally easily put together, terrible sleep due to none stop squeaking. Wooden slats, on a metal frame without any rubber caps causes nothing but friction, resulting in a lot of noise. 2
Malm repeat purchase Anonymous reviewerBought the yellow stained oak in 2016 but the headboard joints widened over time due to dismantling when moving. Ikea discontinued that colour and wouldn't @llow us to buy the headboard only as a replacement p@rt. We were satisfied with the bed so we just bought the white stained oak to replace ihe old one5
I have brought 2 of these beds as they are very nice Anonymous reviewerBrought 1 that was good so I brought another one 4

Accessories for MALM

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
