Firm but comfyAnonymous reviewerWe tested the mattress in-store and found it comfy. The one we purchased felt much more firm when we got it home, so we worried it might not work out well, however our guest had a great sleep on it and found it very comfy. Presumably it will soften a little more over time.

Why is the cover not machine washable?Anonymous reviewerI have a Lyksele Lovas mattress and its cover is not machine washable, yet the other mattresses available for Lyksele have washable covers. Why is this? The Lovas is the mid-range option by price! I would like to buy a replacement mattress cover but this is not an option.

Bed is nice mattress is too hardAnonymous reviewerThe sofa bed is easy to put up and good quality. Unfortunately the mattress is very hard. To use the ,sofa function‘ is not really possible for visitors because you cannot lean comfy backwards. Also our guests were complaining about the hard mattress. I looked into a mattress topper but have not found one with the same measurements. I would not buy it again.

With it transferred any movement from my partner and woke me up constantly. Bought this one as I was told a memory foam mattress would stop motion transfer. It doesn’t seem to have helped! It’s very very firm. I’m hoping it softens up in the next few weeks. The problem I’ve got is you’re limited to what type of mattress you buy for a sofa bed as it needs to fold. I’m looking tons of sleep due to motion transfer. Anyone got any ideas on this please?

Comfy and good sizeAnonymous reviewerWe were expecting visitors to stay over for three nights , we purchased lycksele mattress , but as we unwrapped it we realised I it had a large split , I would have stitched it , but the seam had completely come away on one side, so there was no fabric to stitch into . We wrapped it back up stored it away , we did not want to use it in case we were not allowed to return it used . Meanwhile we had to purchase a mattress from a different store for our guests to sleep on . Returned to ikea store two days later for refund

Good Quality MattressAnonymous reviewerNeeded a sofa bed that would put up with being used for a few weeks non stop. I researched many and the IKEA LYCKSELE came out top. It's very comfortable. I bought the mid priced mattress, however, I do wish I had bought the mattress with a topper for the extra support, but I can get one seperately which is great. Good quality, doesn't flatten like many do.
Strong musty, chemical smell after one weekAnonymous reviewerI bought this product one week ago. It has a strong musty, chemical smell to it. We put it in a room with windows & door open. Still smells. Called the store today and was told it was the fire retardant they use and to put it outdoors. Said to the customer rep that I think this product should come with a warning about the smell and what to do about it. We bought it for guests coming at the weekend and they did not like the smell. Thought we had damp in the room! Bed itself is comfortable so no complaints there but cannot recommend due to smell.

excellent product for old foldable guest bedAnonymous reviewerI bought this mattress to go onto a very old foldable guest bed and it fitted perfectly. The frame was still very good, but the mattress had gone. this mattress is perfect for the job. Very comfortable to sleep on, even permanently. We have the double sofa bed with the same mattress as our main bed and love it.
