Cheap and nasty!Anonymous reviewerThe problem with this product, like many of Ikea's products is that it is made to hit a price point. Quality appears to have been forgotten, the chipboard it is made from is poor low density board and the foil/vinyl covering is thin. This is then combined with poor packaging, resulting in 8 of the 12 I ordered being damaged.
The solution, make it out of better board, improve the foil covering and cover the entire shelf, (including the edges). Pack it in a cardboard sleeve with corner protection. Then increase the price accordingly. £8-10 for a better shelf would not be unreasonable.

Good shelf, poor packagingAnonymous reviewerPretty heavy duty shelf. Sadly the packaging let it down. I originally ordered 2 (along with other items). One of these arrived damaged. The replacement also arrived damaged. 3rd times the charm hopefully.
The packaging itself is just basic translucent plastic wrap . I wonder why this doesn’t have the cardboard box packing like other items? Especially since it’s a decent weight. On the upside the customer service was very helpful.

Terrible packagingAnonymous reviewerThe shelves are fine and fit well, but most were damaged due to poor packaging. Each shelf was able to move around inside the box so at least one corner in each shelf arrived damaged. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that that would happen. Couldn’t be bothered to complain and ask for replacements as I’ve been through that pain before with Ikea.

Wardrobes and kitchens not same - less laminate, more paper wrapped particle board. Plus side , more colour choices, more environmentally friendly , downside less durable. This was second replacement due to edges chipped before installation.
