This pleated blind can be mounted in any way to block out light from the moon, sun or street lamps. Pull from top to bottom or from bottom to top – or just cover a section in the middle of the window

The blind can be cut and re-cut to fit a smaller window. Ensure that you do not exceed maximum cut length.
The blind is cordless for increased child safety.
Drill-free mounting using the 4 included brackets with adhesive tape. The adhesive has been tested and approved for smooth glass surfaces.
The assembly instructions include a table with numbers corresponding to those on the fabric and rails to facilitate precise measuring and cutting.
The rails at the top and bottom allow you to mount the pleated blind precisely, covering any gap.
Easy to maneuver using either of the plastic handles at the top or bottom.
Depending on your needs, you can pull the blind from the top down or from the bottom up. You can also adjust the blind so it only covers a section in the middle.
The block-out fabric effectively blocks out light and completely darkens your room, helping to set the perfect ambience for a movie night or to secure a good night’s sleep.

Highly recommended to attach to surfaces made of glass.
For window frames or surfaces not recommended for the adhesive, mount the brackets with screws using a drill or screwdriver. The brackets are prepared with small holes for this purpose.
To reposition or reuse on another window, remove adhesive-mounted brackets with plastic hand scraper. Replace with new brackets available cost-free at IKEA stores or contact IKEA Customer Services for help.
For door windows or windows taller than 130 cm, mount 2 pleated blinds to cover the whole surface.

The top rail of the 60 cm wide blind can be cut max. 40 cm.
If you need to adapt the dimensions of the pleated blind to your window, cut the top/bottom rails and the rods with a metal saw. Cut the fabric with a safety knife.
The included tool makes it easier to get straight, accurate lines when adapting the size of your rail/rod/fabric. It also protects your fingers.
For a smooth, friction-free glide, apply a few drops of silicone spray lubricant to the lock mechanism in the brackets. Ensure the spray is suitable for plastic and metal.
Can also be used in bathrooms.

Made easy by not following instructionsAnonymous reviewerI gave this rating a 5 star. Here's how I made simple work of this blind.
The worst problem is cutting down the blind itself. I tried all sorts of ways and finally found my easiest and better finish was to use a hacksaw with the blade ground to a sharp edge, leaving a small amount of teeth still showing in the middle. Cut was perfect. I made 2 smaller width blinds, which came out really well. 200mm wide one of them. I offered the blind to the window inset and as long as I allowed equal (20mm approx) more on each hole where the rod fits, it all works out fine. Most complaints were about the 3mm rod. I cut it fine with a 32tpi blade no issues. I did use the supplied guide but I put it in the bench vice, but it's easy if you stick it down on a table. Another thing to think about is deburring the cut edge on the top and bottom alloy extrusions. I used a needle file, all cleaned up well. Use an alcohol wipe if sticking to glass and finish with a paper towel. All should stay put.
Bought 9 of these for conservatoryAnonymous reviewerI've got 9 of these for my conservatory.
Trimming down was easy, about 2 minutes of each side to saw down. I did use the little brackets for sawing although I also used a hand clamp to secure it, otherwise it relies heavily on a smallish sticky pad to keep the bracket still.
I left the sticky pad on to temp secure then properly secured with screws to the frame.
I did try just to the window, although it would let a little light in the sides if I did so opted for the frame.
My suggestion (if possible) leave about .5mm of the metal rails excess either side, don't do it flush.
If doing to a window pane, I imagine it'd be a bit finicky making sure the nut that is tightened to the rail, (on the outside edge of the window) as this would have to be done prior to applying

You’re basically being lied to about the product to make it seem better Anonymous reviewerBought two of these for angled windows in an attic flat. One of them worked somewhat well once we had the right tools which we thought we had after buying two hacksaws to cut through the metal pole neither of which worked. Definitely need something a lot stronger to cut through it so already false advertisement with the product already. The second one however has been a nightmare to the point where I even got replacement parts and yet it still doesn’t stick to my window. Followed the instructions to a T when cleaning the window and tried everything to make it stick, yet every time it falls off. A big waste of money unfortunately. Giving it two stars as after hours of messing around with different saws the other one is up and working on the window but doesn’t deserve anymore than that.

better than expectedAnonymous reviewerI was a bit apprehensive about these due to other reviews but was pleased i purchased them.
I bought two blinds for my study and originally i was planning to install them directly onto the glass, however due to how you need to trim the blinds to specific widths, i would have had gaps on each side, so i instead installed them onto the window frame itself.
Using a new hacksaw blade, i was able to easily trim the blind itself and the steel guide rods on which the blind slides. The adhesive on the mounting brackets is strong and the blinds were easy to mount. There are some small bolts which hold the guide rods in place, these need to be tightened quite a lot to keep the rods in place, i'd recommend partially tightening them prior to installation to make it simpler when doing the final install on the window.
For the price, i think they are well worth it. I bought the block out versions and while light can come in around the edges the blind material is heavy and blocks a lot of light.
Don't bother Anonymous reviewerThis are not DIY friendly at all. I bought 3 of them and regreat every cent i spent on them. The cuts are really hard to do unless you already have a eletric saw and even then it's challenging. It is blackout tho.
Excellent for the priceAnonymous reviewerWarning that you do need something decent to cut metal (like a Dremel multi-tool sidecutting disc) otherwise you'll be there for hours. I spent 20 minutes sawing away at the metal rods with increasing frustration and was scratching my head as all it did was blunt the blades and take the plastic off where I was trying to cut.. Not a complaint as it shows the metal rods aren't flimsy wobbly things and will hopefully keep the blinds in position. Now that I've got the Dremel dusted off and got one test blind up and have been impressed I'll be off to Ikea and getting a couple more tomorrow for the spare room

Love IKEA, but the design could be betterAnonymous reviewerPros: The blinds are aesthetically pleasing and relatively easy to install. Loved how easy IKEA makes the install, providing tools that assist in cutting the blind down to size.
Cons: My only grouse is that the suggested cut down lines, to assist in resizing the blinds according to the window, are a bit too far apart. While my window is an exact 60cm wide, I had to cut the blind down a notch as it is slightly more than 60cm wide. I now have a 1cm gap on either sides of the blind - slightly dissappointed so taking two stars away per cm.
Completely missold as 'Block-out' blindAnonymous reviewerI think any normal person reading 'blockout' is expecting a blackout blind - or something similar. This is NOT the right product for that, they are light diffusers - and block out a small perecentage of light only. Pointless for my use.
Needs more width choices. Anonymous reviewerI initially bought 2 of these. Compared to the £150 for actual Velux blinds the price of £25 definitely made them worth trying. The first 2 I fitted to Velux windows. After reading all the reviews I read the instructions very carefully a few times before making any cuts. Also bought a new saw. The width choices meant there are gaps down either side but they still keep out most of the heat and light. I waited for a few days thinking the adhesive wouldn't hold because of the angle of the windows but it did.
I bought another 2. 1 for the same sort of window as the first 2 and the other for a 1M roof light window in a flat roof. The first one was fine for a few weeks but now keeps coming falling away on one side. The one in the flat roof fell down after a couple of days. I've ordered some gorilla glue as suggested by another customer and will try that now. If Ikea changes to stronger glue and more cutting options these would be perfect. Also a range of colours would be good.

Really disappointed Anonymous reviewerWe bought one of these for our kitchen knowing we would have to cut to size.
When we started to make to size, the blind only had pre drilled holes at the end of each side. When we cut to size we had nothing to put the rods through so our only position is fully open or fully closed. When we try to open the blind we have to do it slowly otherwise the blind just collapsed forward
You need a industrial angle grinder to cut the blindsAnonymous reviewerDon’t be fooled by the ‘easy’ step by step “use a hacksaw” then “use a sharp Stanley knife” to cut and adjust the size, I swear it’s metal that is used for submarines!!! Even my heavy duty saw struggled to make a dent on these and in the end I was defeated, as the metal just chewed up. Dont waste your money I have and don’t have an ikea less than 2 hours to return, so lesson learnt from me, go to dunelm instead.
Hornvallmo blindsAnonymous reviewerWe bought 10 blinds for the conservatory and at the time of writing it has been at best 1.5 hours each. Main problems have been the instructions which ins some ccases were probably in Swedish the translated into Chinese and back to English! The bugbear is trying to get the metal top and bottom rails cut to the right lengths so that the slider rails can fit the pre-drilled holes in the blinds and you have to allowmore to be cut from the top and bottm rails fo these to synchronise, otherwise the blinds are scrap. We managed to work out how to do this but only through careful measurement and ignoring the N numbers offered as a guide. Plus the assistant gave use misleading infomation about the cost which he mistook as the price for 60cm width blinds (£19) when ours were 100cm (£25). A bit nonplussed at checkout but the £25 is correct - some education of sales staff required! Appearance wise and blockout quality is good. We can now offer our sevices as installation specialists!(Joking).
Be ready!Anonymous reviewerBought this blind for my back garden door. Serves its purpose, looks good, easy to use for what you pay. The cons, the instructions are not the clearest if you are resizing, I thought I had everything measured up well, thankfully I hadn’t cut off enough from the bars that I could just trim it again but I had to read the instructions several times and then consult YouTube for help! I’m pretty well versed in IKEA diy but this took the cake! Make sure you have a good hacksaw to hand to cut through the poles and bars of this blind. Be prepared to be there with the hacksaw sawing for a while to get through and have some sandpaper to hand as well to dull the sharp edges.
It was easy to put on the window and sticks well. I don’t know if I would buy this again, purely as it took me 5 hours to measure everything, make sure it was cut right and cutting took a long time, next time I’ll bite the cost and go to a pro, however if you’re up for the challenge this blind is good for what you pay.
