1 person 2 hoursVerified ReviewerGreat table, but some of the screw heads are soft metal and not quite deep enough to take an electric screw driver which slowed things down a little. One leg is slightly misaligned and no amount of adjustment will compensate, but it’s not noticeable apart from by me! It’s a lovely table and the extendable leaf is really easy to pull out.4

Great valueVerified ReviewerI wanted to replace a large table and shopped around. For the price of this size elsewhere I got the table, a bench and two chairs at Ikea. The quality is a match for anything I've seen and if I, as an 80-year-old, can put it together then anyone else should manage it.5
Love the table, not the easiest to assembleVerified ReviewerBought the table, 2 chairs and bench and have to say they look really good and stylish when assembled. However I have to say that the instructions for the table weren't the easiest to follow and I have to thank Youtube and the people who submitted assembly videos for helping me to complete. A couple of issues with assembly: (i)the heads sheered on a couple of screws when tightening - resolved by carefully cutting ridge in top of head with hacksaw and using a flat head screwdriver; (ii) one of the screw holes for locking device on extension piece had been drilled out of sync and no holes had been made to attach a further two small wooden blocks - I will therefore be returning the table extension piece to exchange. Issues apart, table chairs and bench look great. 1 star knocked off for reasons given.4

Material

What is veneer?

A veneer is a thin wooden sheet fixed on things like particleboards to add a durable surface and a natural wood look – so we enjoy the many benefits of wood without using solid wood. The most common veneer types are birch, ash, oak and beech and we’ve made a special UV lacquer that helps preserve the wood's natural structure. A benefit with a slightly thicker veneer is how you can repair and sand the surface if it’s damaged to give furniture a longer and more beautiful life.

“For me, the dining area is the given centre of the home. My idea with EKEDALEN series was to make a dining set for everything from large dinners to doing homework and crafts. The table is easy to extend, and since the legs follow the table when it’s extended, guests won’t have table legs in the way. The chairs are comfortable and the covers are machine-washable. Flexible and functional for modern homes.”
