Top budget draws in my opinionAnonymous reviewerQuite good. They are made of chipboard and have a mix of screws, plastic and wood fittings. The drawer runners are not ball bearing, they are basic metal runners but ok for the price. The chipboard is thick and this makes the whole drawer feel sturdy. Look out for page 8 of the instructions. If the drawers are being used standalone then use the instruction on the left of the page where the board with the holes is placed on the bottom. If you are adding a desktop to these then follow the instruction on the right of page 8 where the board with the holes goes on the bottom.4

Lower Quality Sliding Rails Than BeforeAnonymous reviewerthe sliding rails are much worse than older version of alex drawers, in two ways: 1. the bump to secure a drawer in the “closed” position has become much more prominent and “hard” feeling; it also makes it impossible to open up a drawer with one hand effortlessly (especially hard for units on castors). 2. the rail is generally speaking a lot less smooth than before. i also went to a few stores to check, any of the newer looking ones have the same worse quality sliding rail that’s both difficult to open and slide around. and the old ones on the side are perfect just like the ones i have at home. is there any potential solution you could provide? can you send me a set of the older version of the sliding rails (or the two panels that have them)? i will swap the inferior ones out. i liked the alex drawers for many years, please don’t ruin the product for all of us.1

Easy to buildAnonymous reviewerBought two of these and they went together in about 45 minutes each. Only issue I had was the sticky feet didn't really stick on one of them. Screw in feet would have been a better option. The instructions could have been a little clearer on how to install the drawers into the unit. I ended up pulling the runners out and then aligning the drawer.5

Attractive Design, Disappointing QualityAnonymous reviewerI purchased the ALEX 36x70 cm drawer unit to complete my desk setup, and I must say that, at first glance, I love its design. The clean, minimalist style is perfect for a modern office space and blends in very well with the decor. It is undeniably good-looking, and the depth of the drawers offers excellent storage potential. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm faded after assembly. The quality of the fit for the drawers is very poor. Despite following the instructions precisely, the drawers do not align properly with each other. Visually, the result is quite ugly and frustrating. Some drawers stick out on one side, others are recessed on the opposite side, creating a very noticeable "zig-zag" effect that completely ruins the clean aesthetic it should have. Pros: Modern design, good internal storage capacity. Cons: Serious drawer alignment problem (what disappointed me the most), negatively affects the visual appearance.3
