Which METOD style families can I choose from?
  • Modern METOD kitchens
Modern kitchens can look great in almost any home, whether you have a newly built flat or a hundred-year-old house. The sleek flat-panel cabinet doors and drawers will give your kitchen a more modern look. Clean, simple lines will create a calm and uncluttered feeling in your space.

Modern kitchens are usually designed around a matte or high-gloss finish, with white, grey and black being the most popular. Modern kitchens have minimal or built-in door handles, and can be made fully handleless with the UTRUSTA push-to-open latches. Appliances are preferably fully integrated in the kitchen and hidden behind kitchen doors where possible. To make your modern kitchen stand out even more, you can add contrasting accent doors to your design, often made from glass or wood effect. To really complement a luxurious look, you should consider adding a custom-made quartz composite or porcelain worktop to your kitchen.
  • Traditional METOD kitchens
Traditional kitchen design remains popular year after year for good reason. The classic painted cabinets with bevelled detail give off a comfortable warmth that works perfectly in any family home. Whether your style is more rustic, classically traditional, or modern country, there is a traditional kitchen for you.

Traditional kitchens are usually designed around painted cabinet doors, often combined with glass doors for the wall cabinets. The door fronts will have details such as beveling (a raised centre panel) or slatted grooves to give the kitchen that traditional look and feel. The most popular colours are white and cream, but you can also design a traditional kitchen around the colours grey, green or blue. Showing off your kitchen appliances is also an important part of the traditional look, which means they are often combined with freestanding fridges and freezers and other contrasting appliances. To complete the look, combine your kitchen with a kitchen worktop in a colour that contrasts with your kitchen doors and gives the kitchen a warm and inviting look.
  • Shaker METOD kitchens
Shaker kitchens are truly timeless. The simple design of the shaker style traditionally incorporates doors with a wide square frame and a flat recessed centre panel. Depending on the door finish and handles, it can work in either a traditional or contemporary home.

Kitchen door fronts painted in shades of white and grey remain the most popular for shaker kitchens. However, blue and green shaker kitchens are gaining popularity. The addition of cup door pulls in brass or black really finishes off a cosy country vibe kitchen. For a more modern twist on this classic style, try choosing more minimal door and drawer pulls.

Depending on whether you are leaning towards a more traditional or modern shaker kitchecn can come down to which kitchen appliances are chosen to complete the kitchen. A traditional kitchen is suited to gas hobs and free-standing fridge freezers, while an electric or induction hob and an integrated fridge freezer will keep a more contemporary feel.
  • Wooden METOD kitchens
The beautiful warmth of a wood kitchen never goes out of style. Whether it's light oak or a deeper walnut colour, woodgrain cabinets are surging in popularity again.

Whilst a wood kitchen will still bring the warmth of wood to your home, these kitchens are sleeker and more versatile in a variety of styles, from country to modern.
