What layouts are available when I want a METOD kitchen?
METOD kitchens support any space and lifestyle you may have. We give you the power to design your kitchen to fit your home perfectly.
Next, use the guide below to discover what layout will work best for you and your needs. If you have limited space available, your best options will be at the top of the list. If you have a lot of room, you could consider the options at the bottom of the list.
- Linear kitchen
Linear kitchens are perfect when space is limited. They're simple, streamlined, and look great. In this layout, all your kitchen cabinets and appliances are placed along a single wall in a straight line. - Parallel kitchen
Parallel kitchens are ideal if you have a small space with a door or window at either end. There is lots of room for food preparation and storage too. In this layout, your kitchen is divided over two opposing walls, where usually one side is dedicated to your sink and the other to your cooking hob. - L-shaped kitchen
L-shaped kitchens make the most out of a corner. In this layout, your kitchen is divided over two walls that meet in a corner, where the kitchen worktop is connected. Usually, one wall is dedicated to your sink and the other to your cooking hob. - U-shaped kitchen
If you have a large room, the U-shaped layout is ideal. It gives you maximum space and plenty of storage options. In this layout, your kitchen is divided over three walls that meet in two places in a corner, where the kitchen worktop connects all three sides together. - Kitchen with an island
Adding an island to your kitchen gives you extra storage, lots of workspace plus it's a great social point. You can combine a kitchen island with any of the other kitchen layouts, depending on the kitchen space. You could even decide to place your kitchen in one room and your kitchen island in a directly connected room. If you want to know if an island will fit in your space, make sure you have at least 120cm of walking space between your kitchen island and the wall cabinets.
