Can I return a mattress I bought?
It is important to us that your new mattress is suitable for you. If after a while you discover that your mattress is too firm or too soft, you can bring the mattress back and simply change it for another.
If the mattress or top mattress you have purchased is unopened, it can be returned within 365 days of purchase by presenting your receipt. 'Love it or exchange it' is an additional benefit and trial period for mattresses purchased new, giving you a 90-night trial period on your new mattress. If you notice that the mattress or top mattress is too firm or soft, it can be replaced once during the 90-night trial period. Our only condition is that the mattress is not dirty, stained, or damaged.
The 90-night trial period applies to all mattresses in our collection, including top mattresses. Returns can be made at an IKEA store or by ordering a replacement with a transport pick-up through our customer service during our opening hours. The easiest way to contact our customer service is to write "I want to talk to a person" in the chat. Alternatively, you can call our customer service at 09 3482 9400.
We can also recycle your old mattress for you. Pick-up is only possible with the 'Delivery to your address - carried inside' service. You can recycle as many old mattresses as you bought new ones: if you bought two new mattresses, you can recycle two old mattresses, and so on. The price of the recycling service is product-specific, in which case you pay a recycling fee of 25 euros for each recyclable product.
Please note that for hygiene reasons, mattresses must be protected by wrapping them in plastic before pick-up. With the recycling service, you can be sure that your old product ends up being recycled properly – some of the material is reused and the rest is made into recycled fuel.
