How does a curbside delivery work?
To ensure that your furniture arrives at your doorstep, you can simply order it online and have it delivered by a freight forwarder. After entering your zip code, you will see all available shipping methods. Choose between "Standard Curb Delivery" or "Express Curb Delivery" and decide on a delivery date. Then enter your data and receive a confirmation by email with the fixed delivery date. On the day of delivery, please ensure free access to the delivery location. An adult must receive and sign the goods. The shipping company will deliver your order outside the building as close to your address as the driveway allows. Then check directly whether everything is complete and undamaged. If something is missing or damaged, our IKEA customer service will be happy to help you.
1. Place an order:
- Make a selection: Add your products to the shopping cart.
- Select delivery method: Enter your zip code to check the available delivery methods and select "Standard curbside delivery" for relaxed planning or "Express curbside delivery" if you're in a hurry.
- Standard curbside delivery availability: If you are not offered standard delivery, it is due to a short-term high demand for your product. Don't worry - we are already checking the stocks for you in the background. You can simply complete the order later or choose a different ordering method.
- Express curbside delivery availability: Express delivery is only offered to you if your delivery address is in the direct postcode area of an IKEA store and your products are in stock. If you are not offered express delivery despite these requirements, all delivery dates have already been taken.
- Delivery window: You can easily choose between the two time slots: 7:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
- Personal data: Enter your billing address and the shipping address for your order. We will only use your email address and phone number for your order and for questions about your delivery.
- Everything included? Briefly go through your order overview and see if you have found everything for your project. If everything fits, choose your preferred payment method and complete your order securely.
- Order confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email after completing your order. In it, you'll find your fixed delivery date and a list of your products. If you don't find a message from us in your inbox, please take a quick look at your spam folder.
- Change Order: You can easily adjust or cancel your order online up to a certain status. Just use our online service "Track and manage your order". If you no longer see the selection, your order is already firmly scheduled for truck delivery. It's best to contact our IKEA right away Customer Service, so that we can find a suitable solution for you together.
2. Order processing:
- Preparation: On the day of delivery, we ask you to ensure free access to your delivery location. As a rule, the haulage companies deliver with a 7.5 ton truck. Please make sure that there is sufficient parking space for the truck - we need about 15 m of space (corresponds to about 3 car parking spaces).
3. Delivery
- Your delivery date: The date mentioned is a fixed date. The booked time slot for freight forwarder deliveries cannot be restricted. In addition, our forwarding company will try to contact you by phone about an hour before delivery.
- If you're not there: Important for you: If you cannot accept the delivery in person, you may instruct an adult person with a written power of attorney to accept the order for you. If no one is at home when the delivery is made, a second delivery must be arranged for a fee. Additional storage fees may also be incurred here.
- Evidence: Please have your order confirmation ready.
- Your order is here! Your satisfaction is important to us. That's why we ask you to check your order and packaging carefully.
