Meatballs with pasta & tomato sauce

This simple and delicious everyday dish of pasta, meatballs, and tomato sauce is ideal for busy families. Plus, it’s yummy, kid-friendly and ready in no time!

Ingredients:

Meatballs with pasta
400 g (one package) BÄSTISAR pasta
12.7 oz (24 ca) HUVUDROLL meatballs
Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

Tomato sauce
28 oz tomatoes finely crushed
Olive oil for frying
1/2 yellow onion
2 garlic cloves
1/4 cup tomato purée
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp sugar
Salt
Pepper

Step by step

  1. Finely chop the yellow onion and garlic.
  2. Heat olive oil in a saucepan and add the onion and garlic. Fry the onion until it is soft.
  3. Add tomato purée and oregano to the saucepan and fry for another minute.
  4. Pour crushed tomatoes, sugar, salt and black pepper into the mixture and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions.
  6. Cook the meatballs according to the package instructions.
  7. Combine the cooked pasta and meatballs with the tomato sauce and serve. For an extra touch of flavor, top with grated parmesan cheese. Buon appetito!

 

Tip!

For a vegetarian option, you can use plant balls instead of meatballs
