How to create a walk-in closet in your bedroom

You don’t need a separate room to have a walk-in closet. You can create one in your bedroom that has the same great feeling and practical benefits.

Storage along a wall, including a SYVDE cabinet with glass doors, acts as a walk-in wardrobe with curtains for doors.

Step 1 – Concentrate storage in one area

Use the headboard of your bed to divide off the area for your wardrobe and put most of your storage there. Then the rest of the room will feel relaxed and airy.

Step 2 – Get the small things organized

With a few boxes you can make sure your shelves and drawers stay tidy so that you can always find smaller things like socks and accessories.

Step 3 – Use curtains as closet doors

Curtains can make good closet doors. They’re quick to put up, budget-friendly and don’t take up much space when open. Leave some free space in front of the curtain for getting to your storage and trying on clothes. We created a homemade one from SKÄGGÖRT fabric.

Step 4 – A headboard that multitasks

The headboard of the bed doesn’t just separate the closet area from the rest of the room, it also works as a clothes rack and picture gallery.

Step 5 – Essentials for getting dressed

A big mirror, good lighting and a bench to sit on make putting your outfit together a lot easier. And a MULIG clothes bar makes a great home for clothes that you’ve worn a bit but don’t need to wash yet.

Step 6 – For make-up and accessories

Don’t forget a place where you can put the finishing touches to how you’re going to look today. A SKÅDIS pegboard combination keeps your make-up and accessories nice and handy.
