Dysfunctional MelissaI think it is wild that the drawers in the desk are not wide enough to hold a standard sheet of paper. Especially the bottom drawer, it would be great if it was wide enough so it could be converted into file drawer but it isn’t. Would also be better in a cream color. This looks like a dirty beige.
Sides can be switched (with a slight modification)PattyThis desk is awesome! It’s the perfect combination of drawers and shelves, and the desk surface is nice and large. We needed the shelves on the left so we just assembled everything normally except turned the drawer unit around. There were just two dowels on the top of the drawer unit that we had to forgo. But they weren’t critical since there were four other dowels and six screws to attach the drawer unit to the desk top (step 37 in the instructions). I guess we could have drilled holes for these two dowels but it was totally fine without them.
The desk is really nice and sturdy. Very happy with this purchase!
Small drawersJenniferAssembly is definitely a two person job, by day 3 I wish I had paid for assembly. Once it was put together, the desk is absolutely beautiful. But pay attention to the dimensions on the drawers, the bottom drawer is nowhere near big enough to put hanging folders vertical or horizontal, not sure what it is supposed to be used for.

Sew very much in love!MelyssaI very much love this desk!!! I've had this desk for 1 year now. My husband likes to buy my anniversary gifts according to tradition for that year. Last year was our 29th wedding anniversary, and he finally wore me down into letting him buy a new sewing desk for me. (#29 is furniture, I guess?) Anyhow, I couldn't be happier! The bookcase side of the front of the desk, I hung my acrylic rulers from a command hook. The bookcase houses sewing patterns, fabric scraps, current projects, and sewing books. The drawers keep often used notions right at my side. My 23" x 36" cutting mat is a perfect fit on the desk top. Its not quite tall enough to cut out a garment on, but smaller projects are okay. Its the perfect height for sewing. The left hand side of the desk, I would love to hang pegboard for other notions and supplies. I am sew happy with this desk!
2deskTomProduct as advertised. Only problem was 3 parts missing in one pkg. called and replaced in 8 days. The desk drawers could be an extra inch wider is only improvement to the product I would recommend

The instructions are mostly clear.
Be aware there are two different sized peg-locks (same circumference but different depths) and they can be easily confused.
