Glasses shatter out of nowhereChristinaWe’ve gotten the same glass set in the smaller size and have been going great for years. But we recently bought these larger glasses and have already had two glasses just randomly shatter while drying both faced down and faced upright. They were hand washed with close to room temperature water and have never been put in a microwave or dishwasher. We loved our glass set but don’t feel safe buying them from ikea again.

DANGEROUS LisaThese drinking glasses spontaneously explode (not an exaggeration) without any warning. Bought 8, 2 exploded in the first month. I threw the rest out
Spontaneously combustKameelaThese have spontaneously combusted 3 times. This time while I was drinking and I now have glass embedded in my skin and bleeding. Terrible product and incredibly unsafe. I wasn't using them in any weird way either, just drinking plain water. The others exploded just sitting there.
Dangerous! Spontaneously exploding glass!BrittanyI'm currently nursing a big old puncture wound on my index finger thanks to these glasses. I bought six and within the course of the year all 6 have broken, mostly during washing. Two of them shattered spontaneously in the drying rack leaving shards of glass all over my house. Thankfully my young children and pets were not harmed. The very last one broke in my dishwasher. I cut my finger real bad trying to clean out the dishwasher filter. Honestly, I'm not sure I'll be shopping at IKEA anymore. This issue has apparently been ongoing for several years and nothing seems to be happening about it.
Glasses randomly explode! Do not buy!MikHorrible quality. The other reviews are true. The glasses randomly explode. We had one just shattered sitting on a counter randomly. These are defective and surprised that IKEA is still selling them given they can be a safety hazard!

Exploding glassesMakalaIt's true. These glasses will randomly explode of their own volition. I've had two break just from sitting on the counter and suddenly the bottom shatters and theres water and glass dust everywhere. At first I thought I was losing control of my telekenetic powers and projecting angry thoughts onto the glass triggering a powerful physical reaction. But I guess it was just poor quality control from Ikea. Got them from the Tampa store in July 2025.

Spontaneously breakJacobThese glasses look really cute however over the course of a few months we have lost three of them to spontaneous breakage. One was in the dishwasher and broke during a wash cycle the other two have broken while sitting on a countertop or in the sink, presumably because of leftover sugars from juice or something? Would not recommend especially if you have kids.

Shattered Spontaneously EmilyWe've had these less than a year and several of them have spontaneously shattered either in the sink or dishwasher! Luckily no one was harmed. I wouldn't get these, or any of the other colors!

Fab glasses, cheap glassEdithLoved these, enjoy the green ones, but lost one to the difference between hot rinse water in a sink and fridge cold water from a pitcher! Family member picked it up from dish rack, placed on counter, poured in water from fridge and bottom popped off. No extreme heat, just sink v fridge. Caution!
