These people are hard to please. Great desktopPeterYes, it does leave scuff marks if your moving furniture on top of it, but it does not leave scratches. I cleans quite well. I don't know if some people are just beating up their desks or not, but it baffles me to see that there is peeling or signs of wear and tear within months of owning it. I've had it over a month, and I love it. It's a perfect desk. 5
Love this Desktop!JulieI don't know what others are complaining about, but I've had this about a year now and I still absolutely love it. I positioned the indentation to the rear where my monitor stand attaches and allows me to get the entire unit close to the wall. I've attached thin depth drawers underneath along with cable management, and the entire thing is just awesome. I love the finish. This desk top gets daily use working from home. 5
Worst decisionMasonCannot believe I bought this thing without doing proper research. This was a very expensive investment for the entire desk. The standing mechanism seems good but this table top is absolutely awful. Now I don't know if I can simply use any table top with the standing mechanism or if I have to scrap the whole thing.
My desk is riddled with peeling marks everywhere, even in areas I don't actively touch. It looks atrocious.1
Very bad paint qualityIlhamIt's a good table, but very bad paint, which peels in less than a year. 1
Disappointment WilmaSame issue as the other reviews here. Two years of usage, the tabletop is peeling in all sorts of places. I’ve tried touching it up, but it’s become no use as it’s begun to peel faster. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this to anyone in the future and strongly advise that it’s avoided.2
Table topEarnestScratches easily, mouse noisy when moving you will def need mouse pad, meh value for the price.3
Avoid like the plague, the powdercoat wears off just from touching it.MatthewBuying the Uppspel desk was the worst Ikea decision I ever made. Whoever felt it was a good idea to put powdercoating on a desk should be fed to the wolves. The entire front lip of the desk is now horrifically ugly, with the paint having worn off *simply from my arms resting or brushing against it*. This started within six months of owning the product. Water damage easily ruins the surface as well, with particleboard welts a plenty. Virtually every other Ikea desk has a near indestructible surface top (Bekant, for example, and the Beloved Jerker of the past), I find this $160 tabletop fit for a $800+ desk to be literally embarassing to own. Avoid like the plague, I'm serious.1
Very good quality AlbertThis top table is amazing the finish is so good and sturdy and resistant to any damage , highly recommend 5
