You can position the table top in two different ways. If you have the contour shape facing forwards, you enjoy relief for forearms and wrists – and having it at the back creates a gap where you can lead all the cables down.

Product details

It should be comfortable to play, especially when a match drags on. That’s why the table top is deep – so you can position screens at a comfortable distance from your eyes.

Durable matte surface that is easy on your eyes since the light glare is low.

UPPSPEL Tabletop, black, 55 1/8 "AngelI've had this tabletop for over two years of constant use and it looks as good as the day it was purchased. So much so I just picked up the larger version for my other computer setup. Now this doesn't mean others posting their issues are not valid, I'm just posting my personal experience with this product. 5
Paint is not lastingKhriselle AnneI've had the Uppspel desk for 3 years now, and overall, the desk is great. Except for the table top. The front side's paint came off within a year, and it attracts a lot of dust. 2
Love the shape; paint doesn't lastWhitneyPaint was coming off the front corners within a month of purchase. I have just been touching it up with a paint pen, but it is definitely a disappointment. The surface is heavy and solid, and the form factor is very unique and attractive.3
Quality control of the paint job is horrificMatthewBuying the Uppspel desk was the worst Ikea decision I ever made. Whoever felt it was a good idea to put powdercoating on a desk should be fed to the wolves. The entire front lip of the desk is now horrifically ugly, with the paint having worn off *simply from my arms resting or brushing against it*. This started within six months of owning the product. Water damage easily ruins the surface as well, with particleboard welts a plenty. Virtually every other Ikea desk has a near indestructible surface top (Bekant, for example, and the Beloved Jerker of the past), I find this $160 tabletop fit for a $800+ desk to be literally embarassing to own. Avoid like the plague, I'm serious.1
Great but not best to resist dirtShelbyLove, but it holds dust and dirt. I always have to wipe it off with a damp cloth.4

Designer thoughts

“The desk is a key part of a gamer's gaming environment and must be easy to set up in different ways. So we chose to focus on ergonomics when we created UPPSPEL gaming desk. It’s easy to adjust in height (even during a match), and if you have the desktop’s contour-shaped side facing you, you enjoy comfortable relief for forearms and wrists. You can also lead cables down through the two V-shaped corners. We hope the desk feels a little like the command bridge of a spaceship."
