Great Couch!AmandaI bought this couch for my small apartment and on a tight budget. I was a little worried that I had to put it together, but it was so easy and took maybe 10 minutes? Seriously, it was not a big deal. The covers go in super easy too and the finished product is beautiful. The cushions are a little stiff but have been breaking in over time. I love my UPPLAND couch! I loved the price too. 😉
UPPLAND sofaAutumI purchased the UPPLAND sofa in Kilanda light beige. I previously had the ektorp sectional in white. I loved my white ektorp sectional. It always came clean no matter what was spilled on it. And with 6 kids, 4 dogs and a husband. It was the easiest to clean. Now I upgraded to the UPPLAND sofa and my family loves this so much better. It’s bigger, easier to put on the cushion covers and the beige cover is a beautiful color. We decided to go with a sofa and loveseat and 2 ottomans. My dogs and children practically live on this couch and they love it. Best part of this couch is washday. It’s like laying on nice fresh bed linens
The one I got was not good.MOrdered th UPPLAND loveseat. Just a depressing, clunky, uncomfortable piece of furniture & th fabric was roasting hot. If someone sat on it, th back of th cushion ended up higher, misshaped & took effort to get them back into somewhat of a normal shape. So every time guests got up th cushion looks like a stiff stupid embarrassing slope! I wish I returned it but was expecting friends so had to keep it.
If you buy this & it's NOT what you *realistically* expected (I mean, you know ur not ordering $3,000 quality), but if it's not realistically comfortable for th few hundred bucks it is- send it back but also TELL THEM!! 8 months later I threw it out for large item pick-up.
I nevr write reviews like this & it's now been a couple of yrs since throwing it out. Maybe they make it better now?
Reason for posting a review now is it was a waste of my hard earned money. Ikea ur good at so many things. I had an Ektorp sofa- excellent! especially for the money! Pls don't make it if it's not good!

Uppland-steer clearKatieI LOVED my ektorp. Unfortunately, this uppland really really missed the mark. I ended up buying all 3 of the beige slip covers and they were ALL terrible. I was shocked at the beige colors and how scratchy and uncomfortable the material was. I had to find an old uppland slip cover on Facebook marketplace to purchase. So disappointed and considering returning this sofa. Such a hassle and disappointing after loving my ektorp.
Practical & Pet-FriendlyJoannI’ve had the IKEA Uppland sofa and loveseat in Kilanda Light Beige for a couple years now. It’s not the most comfortable option out there, but it’s been a great fit for our household with two dogs and a kid. The washable covers are super convenient, and the price is hard to beat. The Kilanda fabric gets a bit rougher after washing, but still looks nice. I may try a Hillared cover next time for better durability. Overall, it’s a solid, functional choice, just don’t expect luxury comfort.
Not good AngelaI had an ektorp for 7 years and it was decent. I got the uppland and it’s creaking and cracking on day one. It probably wouldn’t last a year. I’m returning it.
Do not buy this couch I Bought one 5 years ago and it is way different. The one I just bought feels like you’re sitting on cardboard. I keep thinking I’m going to break in the cushions, but I don’t every time I sit down on it. It feels crunchy. So I put them on the floor and I jumped on them to try to break them and much to my dismay. Nothing happened. it is extremely uncomfortable. And they’ve taken a shortcut and made it so both of the cushions are not upholstered in the sofas fabric. It would probably cost them maximum of $60 to have both cushions cover top and bottom. Which I prefer because if one of them gets dirty and I need to quickly flip it over I can. It’s a shortcut that should not be taken. I don’t recommend this Couch. The covers do not stare properly they slip and so the cording does not stay on the corners. It makes the couch look very slouchy.I don’t recommend this Couch.
The cover pilled terriblyCassandraI had the Ektorp for years and loved it. Replaced it with this one and it’s awful. The cover has pilled terribly despite keeping it covered with a couch cover unless we have visitors. I’ve washed it once time and lines dried. It’s awful. Do I replace it with another polyester over or forget it and get a whole new couch. In addition, the cushions are not soft at all. The quality has really gone downhill.
Arms break easily. Anonymous reviewerBoth arms broke on the sofa. Not where they bolt at the bottom to the frame that's still snug- but on the inside of the arm. No one sits on the arms it's just from sitting on the couch laying on the arms like one normaly does on a sofa. I literally heard the second one snap. Now they both bow outward severely, and are extremely wiggly. Bolts are on secure nothing you can do to fix. I loved the sofa because it's washable. Not the most comfortable sofa a little dense I prefer a springy seat, but great for the price. Wanted to purchase a second one, but not inclined to with the arms being so flimsy.
Great sofaJoanWe had the Ektorp for 15 years and last week the springs broke or whatever and it was no longer usable. Bought the upland and couldn’t be happier. The navy blue is gorgeous and the style is very similar to ektorp. I prefer uppland actually. The back is higher than ektorp. It’s very comfortable and easy to put together. We had one issue with the underside holes not lining up but it shouldn’t cause a problem. Don’t overpay for furniture. This is a great buy especially if you have kids who can be hard on furniture.
Loving This CouchJennyThis is my second Uppland 3 cushion couch. I bought the first a year ago to replace my 22 year old IKEA couch. This couch is comfy and firm. The slipcovers wash beautifully. So pleased with this item!!

Uncomfortable ElizabethUnfortunately, this sofa does not live up to the description of “extra soft” cushions. They are extremely hard and while they may soften a bit with time, I don’t think it’s enough to make it worth it. The overall look is nice though.

Love the uppland sofa!MichelleBought the sofa with the white canvas slipcovers and used taskrabbit to put it together. Am so pleased, wish I had bought this sooner! Don't know why anyone would complain about the seat height or anything dimension wise about the sofa, it's so much better than most of IKEAs furniture which seems to be made for children. I'm 5'8" and actually prefer even higher seat height and more seat depth, like my Rowe furniture of the past, but didn't want to invest in Rowe right now. Anyway, this sofa is comfortable enough to nap in and it's extremely comfortable, striking a very good balance between soft and supportive. The top of the ottoman could be softer though, but honestly that is no big deal. am simply amazed by any negative reviews on this sofa, I ordered DESPITE reading the reviews, because of the higher seat height and deeper seating.
Wasn't looking for a formal sofa (which should also not have a low seat height) wanted casual and comfortable and got it! Thank you IKEA!
Upland for the win!ShariWe have looked at couches for a long time. We are so happy with the quality of the Uppland Couch and also the versatility of changing slipcovers for the seasons. The price is really the best compared to many other furniture companies. IKEA for the win with this sofa!

A year reviewTinaIt's little over a year. The cover has held up ok. There's a small rip to one of the front vents. The cover itself never softened through repeated washings but it also never lost its shape, same with the pillow cases. The seat pillows have held up well. The back cushion need additional dense weight foam cut to size then wrapped with batting to restore the shape. Note- the back cushions never really fully "inflated" from the beginning. Overall, it's a sturdy sofa. I would just like it to hold it's shape better for only being a year old. I'd also love for there to be more options of fabrics and colors for this sofa. Being slipcovered, I'd love to be able to change out for seasons and reasons.
