Should have bought this French press sooner!JessicaGreat quality for the price! Easy to clean, glass is thick. The only way we make our coffee now!
Great coffee pot.ArinThis coffee pot makes the best tasting coffee.
Design changed to plastic EugeneI enjoyed the smaller size of this coffee press. I purchased another one and was upset to see it was changed. Despite multiple studies showing the harm of microplastics, IKEA changed the design to include plastic directly in the filter. Pretty bad move in my opinion. The product photo also still shows all metal in the plunger so the photos are no longer accurate. Won’t be buying this again.
Idiotic decision to use plastic in the filterKnafI recently purchased a French press from IKEA and was surprised they started using plastic in the filter. Absolutely an idiotic decision on IKEAs part as the public is learning of the dangers of plastic and micro plastics.
Previously good product now worthlessJustinHave bought this numerous times over the years and loved it. Upon purchasing another recently, was shocked to find the stainless steel on the plunger was replaced by plastic. Plastic being submerged into hot water and leaching toxic microplastics into each cup of coffee. Completely unacceptable. All so Ikea can pad their margins a fraction of a percent. Would have been far better to just raise the price and maintain the quality. Instead we are left with an unusable product.
Coffee PressLyndaIt’s cute… I used it once and it was not what I expected. It handled as expected. I will try again with courser grounds.
Broke First Week!!MarcyI took mine apart to clean after each use. There are three pieces; two metal, one plastic. The plastic is at the bottom and the threads in the plastic wore out after three uses!! I can't secure the three pieces back on firmly. So when I press down it goes sideways and the grounds come free. The bottom part where you screw it all together should have a better thread inside the plastic.
Great for One PersonBrendaThe press is easy to use and easy to take apart and clean. It's the perfect size for one big cup of coffee.
Best French PressAnonymous reviewerI’m glad I stopped by IKEA to get a good look at the new French Press. To my delight I saved the stainless steel parts at the bottom from my previous IKEA presses. It’s now business as usual for my morning coffee.
Bad QualityEdwardBought it less than a week ago, the handle already loose. Very disappointed.
Too Fragile KarlaAfter having this for only one week, it tipped over in the sink and broke.
Purchased for just in case ElizabethWe are clumsy and always keep an extra one on hand incase we break the glass.
Excited to useTheresaThis product didn’t disappoint, this was easy to use amd my freshly brewed coffee was very yummy.
Great valueMelbaIt works perfectly and was very affordable
Plastic? Hey now….HeatherHow come the smaller version of this is all stainless steel but yet this one has a plastic bottom to it that is part of the plunger. It is not safe and it also affects the flavor of the coffee. Come on IKEA make the large one like the small one it’s much better.
New design is defective, broke after only a few usesAnonymous reviewerThe bottom part of the filter was changed from metal to plastic in a recent redesign. This is not the same product that received such high reviews, do not be deceived. Screwing a metal screw into plastic ruined the thread of the plastic nearly instantly. We purchased it just over a month ago, and we don't even use it daily - I have used this probably less than a dozen times and already the thread is so worn the parts barely stay together and sometimes falls apart. Such a waste of materials. I hope they will revert to the all metal parts for inside the coffee press.
Debris in my teaAnonymous reviewerI made loose leaf tea and this for the first time with this and had a whole bunch of floaters in my tea. I don't you want to know how how much coffee grounds would be in my coffee. Will try to return it. I'm not sure if they all like this or if it's just this one
Good coffee/tea makerLizaOverall, this is pretty nice item. Works like it’s suppose to. We use ours mainly to hold boiled water for daily consumption. This is our 3rd one now. Broke 2 so it is a bit fragile. The glass could be better, thicker but it is glass. At least the clean up was fairly easy; big chunks instead of little bitty glass shards. I think the price went up over the years but probably due to inflation sadly. Try it, if you’re on the fence or let us know if there’s better quality one. Thanks for reading!
New design led to horrible qualityAnonymous reviewerdont be fooled by high rating of this product. It used to be great BUT IKEA has changed its design - the bottom part of the filter is plastic, in which a steel part is screwed. That's a horrible idea of a horrible quality, as plastic thread will be worn out in a matter of days/weeks.
First time userAnonymous reviewerI've never used a French press before, but this came with instructions. I wanted to be able to make small batches of mushroom coffee or tea. I haven't tried it with tea yet, but it worked with the coffee. The grind was to fine, but it still worked well.
