Its okLindseyI have had this 5 months and one handle has already broken. I only hand wash these and it is not being abused just grating cheese with it, maybe once per week for parmesan over pasta. Hopefully the second grater blade will last.

Easy to assembleJannettI tried to shave hard aged cheese, it works great and it is easy to clean. I had a grater from another vendor, it grinds down the plastic container as you rotate the grinder, I checked very thoroughly on IKEA grater, it does the job nicely without leaving any scratches on the side wall. I am so happy that IKEA’s design works well

Good but be carefulBryceWorks great to shred cheese, I like that it is machine washable and has multiple shred sizes.
Make sure the collar is properly engaged though, we did not tighten it correctly and did not realize it, and it ended up shredding white plastic from the tool itself into our food.
