I do love the base. Even though they could/should have made it bright yellow. Using most apple cutters requires a cutting board, so after hitting bottom you still need to cut through that last bit of skin. With this design the blades go lower than the fruit/vegetable so I've not had to push the stuff out that last micromilliltre. And thus have not injured myself. (I'm looking at you, Pampered Chef. "
All that said, it is difficult and I wish the blades were sharper. 3

Love the versatility and storage, low quality cutterDanielleI had the old apple cutter/corer from IKEA 10+ years. It started to rust so I purchased this set.
Pros:
The different shapes and usages are great! Helps cut apples into smaller squares easily, I use the square cutter all the time, even for onions etc
Cons:
The apple cutter (main one to remove core and slice) is extremely low quality. It broke after a few weeks of use, now I have 2 parts of the set and need to buy a separate apple cutter, but it appears IKEA no longer sells it separately and I don't want to purchase this set again due to the low quality of the apply corer3

Not as good as hoped. JenaI have an ikea apple slicer from ten years ago. The handles are much larger, making it a lot easier to use. I was hoping to buy a second one. Not as happy with this one. 3
