Great Chair but very limiting color selectionAnonymousI bought this chair but returned it after few days as the color did not work.
I wish IKEA have had introduced this chair in the white cotton and best yet if this chair would have a washable cover.
White upholstery like it is available on some sofas is ideal because it works with any decor and it is washable and even bleachable so idea for so many of us who own pets.
The chair is very comfortable. Not soft and soggy but on a bit firm side however it is profiled in such a way that very nicely supports comfortable relaxed body posture and is high enough to nicely rest the head on its back wall.
I would truly believe that those chairs would sell in billions if they would make a white cotton cover for it. Also I would love to be able to buy a chair in one finish and cover in other finish so in my case I would love to see a blue velvet/velour chair and be able to smack on it the washable cover or the other way around.
PLEASE MAKE A WHITE COTTON COVER FOR IT!AND PLEASE MAKE A BLUE VELVET TOO
love this chairLauraI am really happy with the Strandmon chair. It takes a bit of effort to put together, but it's worth it. It looks beautiful in my living room and is really comfortable and supportive.

Attractive NancyIt’s an attractive chair with fun lines. If you want a stiff chair that holds you upright it’s very good, if you want to sink into a comfy chair, it’s not that. It also was hard to put together. All that said, I love how it looks in my home.

MY FAVORITE CHAIR EVERMaryI've had my eye on this chair for years and finally splurged and got it last spring, along with the ottoman. It's in my home office and every time I sit in it, it's a treat. The angle of the seat to the back makes it just a little like reclining, and the wings on each side make dozing off easier on my neck. I've had some solid naps in this chair. It looks nice, and everyone compliments it. I would love to get a couple more for the living room. Don't hesitate: get this chair!
Love this Wing Chair BetzabetWe bought this chair on sale last Xmas and we love it. The side winds allowed you to recline rear your head. The seat is in an angle deep so that you feel like a nice hold to you whole body. The hight of the legs is not to tall so that your legs stay nice and comfy on the floor with out hanging. We have had other IKEA's arm chair and this we think is the most comfortable. Also, the size over all is not too tall not too bulky, so it does not over crowd the living room. Further, it's a gorgeous dark green velvet tapestry that goes nice with my urban rustic home style but there a lot of colors and styles to chose. It is strong yet light. We love this chair, even the cats.

Seat Cushion Fabric Does Not Wear WellGeorgeI lived with my Strandmon for a year and half now. The fabric for the seat cushion began showing signs of wear after a year and is getting progressively worse with time. Time to invest in a seat cover.

Nice chair but difficult to buildJoseI’ve only had this chair (with separate cover) for a few days. It’s comfortable and substantial. The HUGE negative - as other reviewers have mentioned - is bolting the side wings to the bottom frame. It took me over an hour of pulling/pushing side wings to align the holes to the bolt in an area of the product with very little visibility. It’s near impossible! Finally aligned bolts and used my own wrenches to tighten for the tool it comes with is near useless.

Back legs buckled underBeritI've only just started using this chair, and within 2 weeks, both back legs have buckled under, rendering it unusable. One of the front legs is now starting to buckle under, as well. I've had good luck with IKEA furniture in the past...it's a shame the quality of this chair is so poor.

Looks great...BenjaminBought one of these three years ago and a second one yesterday.
Something has changed in the intervening years because the final assembly step - bolting the wing arms to the body - is now next to impossible.
you'll need a socket set or drill attachment because the included tool is not fit for purpose.
I sense there may be a manufacturing defect because of misalignment of holes.
I've given up for now and it's in a pile on the floor.
Love the support!MelindaWhen visiting the Ikea store upon seeing this chair I thought no way is this chair going to be comfortable. Once I sat in it I was surprised by the comfort and back support. The chair is quite firm after unpacking it and putting it together. Over time it will get softer. Is one of my favorite chairs to sit in.
Black dye bleeds when trying to cleanI.Black/white houndstooth pattern chair looks good until the high-touch areas like armrests started turning yellow from sweat probably. When trying to clean the black dye smears over the white and makes it look much worse. It's a piece of furniture that should be cleaned if necessary. Definitely don't get it if you have kids or pets. Because once it gets dirty the only solution is to toss it out and then what? Get a new one from IKEA? I guess that's their business model.
