They're ok. Could be better.JasonThe lid just lazily sits on top. It's doesn't snap or lock in place. Removing the ice cubes require a bit of effort. You have turn it upside down and run it under the faucet for a couple seconds. Then you can push out each individual cube from the bottom. Would be perfect if the lid locks in place and flexing the tray would loosen the ice.2
Lids do not work as described-so disappointedDebUnfortunately I purchased these while in the store (a rare opportunity to shop in person) and did not have time to check the reviews. I agree with all who mentioned the lids just sit on top. They do not snap on or click into the tray as other tray designs offer.
For those of us who live too far from IKEA to make a return possible, it is a complete waste of money.
I thought IKEA checked the design and quality of their items before selling inferior products. 2
More ice is betterAnnaI love the feature that allows you to just push on the silicone bottom to get the cube out.5
I love these little traysDelisaI love my new ice trays. Their perfect! I would recommand them. 5
Rare design miss from IKEASpencerThe design of these trays sounds great: soft rubber bottom for easy release of ice cubes from the tray, and a plastic lid to cover each tray. I was disappointed to discover that neither of these design features functions as intended. The ice is impossible to push out of the trays when first removed from the freezer. Flexing the trays like you would with a regular ice cube tray doesn't help to loosen the ice either. You either have to warm up the trays with your hands, or leave them sitting on the counter for about 10 minutes before the cubes will pop out. This always results in wet cubes that then stick together when you pop them back in the freezer. The lids are also poorly designed - they don't snap or fit onto the top of the tray, so they end up just sitting loose.
It may not look as nice, but a dollar store plastic ice cube tray will work better and more efficiently than these do.1
Hard to push ice outAnonymousWhile I was at the store I came across these small ideal sized ice trays. The soft bottom on the ice tray is supposed to help you push the ice out but its of no help. The ice remains stuck in the tray and it's a task getting them out. The lid on top just sits on top of the tray loosely and it's not the kind that snaps into place. These are going to goodwill. 1
Not as good as I hopedSandraWas hoping these would be easy release ice cubes but so far they have proven difficult to get out of the trays. 3
lid does not fit, hard to take ice outChristinelid does not fit well and does not stay, it just sits on top. Also the bottom part seems like it should be easy to push ice out, but it is too hard. Terrible1
Better than Inblandat ice traysSusanI don't mind if the lids don't snap on. At least I can get the cubes out, unlike the Inblandat tray that I bought originally. 5
Lids don't stay on - don't bother with this productJacquelineIf you are interested in this product because of the lid that comes with it - say you're interested in freezing something that is not water and is prone to freezer burn - don't bother with these. The lids don't snap on or stay on at all.1
GreatTeresaFinally replaced my old ones, they’re a nice size and you can pop ten out easily5
Lid doesn’t stay on trayTanVery disappointed that the lid doesn’t even clip on the tray and stay on when the tray is leaned. The reason I bought this was because of the lid.1
Ice but no lidJacquelineThe lids don’t stay on these so you can’t actually keep them stacked neatly. 1
Could get betterMarciI like covered ice cube trays, these are difficult to get cubes out of even with the push bottoms, may get better over time with use.3
Defective TraysDomTop cover does not stay on these trays rendering them useless! 1
Finally no messShidehLove these covered ice cub trays. Good quality and value. Super practical.5
ice cubesAmaliaGodo for making ice5
Good ice trays with small footprintReikoThey are small and that is what I wanted. Since I have bad rheumatoid hands a normal hard plastic tray is hard to use because you have to twist it to release ice cubes. These have silicon bottom so instead of having to twist, you can just push each ice cube out, that is easier for me. Since I do not use too many ice cubes, these two trays give me more than enough ice cubes when I need them. The tray comes with a lid so if you want to use the lid you need to fill water lower (as ice expands the volume). So far I am happy with the trays. 5
They are ok.JadeI like compact and cute. However, the bottom tray is made out of silicon and the sides of the tray is made out of the hard plastic which makes it hard to remove the ice cubes.3
