The ladder mounts on the right or the left side of the bed.

Cheap cheap cheapTanyaCheap materials. Looks cheap. Feels cheap. Very difficult to assemble, and we are not novices to self-assemble furniture. I am really regretting not buying my daughter higher quality furniture from a reputable furniture company. But, my 9 year-old really wanted this bed. Lesson learned! In hindsight, I would have gladly paid double or triple the price for a quality loft bed. This bed is a total piece of garbage.1

I own THREE!MeeshWe have THREE of these in our house right now. My younger three kids (ages 6, 8, 10) are in love with them. They each have their own bedroom, and their rooms are fairly small. I am also a big believer in having as much carpet play space as possible for younger kids so they can create, spread out toys, roll around, etc. I knew I wanted a desk for them, but they had no room. This bunk made it all possible! Each has "disco party lights" stuck around the ceiling perimeter of the desk space. These are the stick on led colored lights IKEA sells. Then on their back desk wall, they each have IKEA's magnet whiteboard, IKEA's cork board for pinning art, and the IKEA wood hanging hook board. These are all placed vertically across the back wall and fit perfectly. My daughter hangs jewelry, boys put up magnet words, they have hanging trays for coloring. The desk is a crafter's dream. I bought the Costco 8" memory foam mattresses since spring are too high. We love these bunks!5

Great Loft BedRosandroBought this for a small bedroom, footprint is very small (size of a twin bed). Closets and drawers are so useful. Assembly took a bit longer and it gets heavier as you progress. Overall very happy with this bed.4
