Cute in the beginning but not worth it in the long run KatelynI purchased this frame because it was recommended by my sister in law, that was more than 2 years ago. At first it was cute and seemed the mattress would be perfect for a toddler. However, there’s something you have to keep in mind. A toddler will outgrow this mattress because of their weight and will require a stronger mattress to sustain them over time and feel comfortable. Therefore, this frame from what I know needs a particular mattress and not a standard one. Eventually, the frame becomes useless. What to do? On Amazon they sell metal bed frames that are low. Buy a standard size twin mattress and you have saved money. Yes, the benefits of the IKEA frame is that it’s extendable and fits small places, but it’s best to think long-term.3

Strong chemical smell doesn't go away. I opened the window and use air purifier but it still there!MeoI bought two ,one white, one light wood Pro: 1.Look cute and modern. 2. The bed seems sturdy and heavy enough for the toddler not lift it up by themselves. 3. Price is affordable Cons: 1. Terrible chemical smell that gives me headache. I tried to open the window, air out and put air purifier in the room. But the smell is still there after 7 days. 2. This bed sells as $99 at Murray, Utah. But it only for the frame without slats and headboard. I was so confused when picked it up at board. Usually Ikea would mark their furniture with "box# 1 need box #2,3,4 etc." But they did not. When I brought the beds home, assemble them. I just realized it need headboard and slats. W/o headboard hardwares,I can't attach the front legs to the frame. Needless to say I had to make another 40' drive to IKEA to buy those parts. I am very frustrated about whole experience! As a parent w/ small kids. It's very hard to go shop, IKEA just make it worse!1
Perfect for my almost 4 year old!SusanJust purchased this bed and my LO has slept on it for a few nights. She loves it and was so excited to get her new “big girl bed”. Tried the shortest length first and she fit, even though her feet touched the footboard. It was horribly short for me to snuggle in and read her a bedtime story so I lengthened it to the medium length. Much better for me (but I’m only 5’1”). I just realized that I can’t add the trundle bed later for this version of the slakt bed. :( Oh well. I can see us having this for a long time anyway. My only complaint is that the Len sheets that are made for it should be sold by the length of the bed you’re using at the moment. They are sold in a 2 pack with the short and medium length as a set. Well, what if you only wanted one length for now? Because for me, now I’m stuck with a short length fitted sheet that is of no use. Other than that, this is a super cute bed and I love not having a full length twin since her room is on the small size. More room for play and toys!5

What is fibreboard?

Fiberboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fiberboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are.
