A teenager's dream. A nice bed with lots of storage that swallows up everything. Allowing you to store all of your teen's stuff in a small space and at a comfortable distance.

Article Number992.919.91

Product details

The drawers are easy to open and spacious enough with room for toys, clothes and other gadgets that teenagers usually like to "store" on the floor.

Soft edges, recessed handles and just a few visible fittings make the bedframe safe and give it a clean design.

You can easily adapt the timeless look based on your taste and personal style by completing with different bed textiles, pillows and accessories.

The shelf section can be attached at the headboard or footboard of the bed.

If you need extra storage close at hand, you can hang MÖJLIGHET bed pocket over the headboard or footboard of the bed.

You can also use the bed as a room divider since the back is covered and lacquered in the same color as the rest of the frame.

If you have a thick rug, the drawers at the bottom are still easy to open since the bottom of the frame is slightly higher.

Ridiculous assemblyAlexI’ve built at least a dozen Ikea products, including 2 adult beds with storage. I’ve never had a step flat out be impossible after 30 minutes of trying. Requiring insertion of 4 screw heads/cams + 7 pegs in a single step is rough, but when most of the pieces they need to be inserted into are so loosely connected they have 1-2 cm of move is absurd. I can believe the low durability comments – the pieces do not feel well integrated, in contrast with most other models I’ve built. The amount of storage was a huge draw, even if it only lasted a few years, however I’ve come close to breaking it before assembly.2
Great bed with a lot of storageDaliaBought for 11 yr old who stored a lot of things on the floor. This has a lot of storage. We love the mini bookshelf . Drawers can hold a lot of things.5
Cute bed with lots of storageLilianI bought this bed for my 12 year-old daughter. She loves the bed and all the storage. We bought a couple of the inserts shown in the demo bed at the store so that she could store her stuffed animals and keep them clean. The only downside is you can lose objects between the back of the mattress in the back of the drawers while making the bed. If you’re careful, it’s not really a problem.5
Perfect for small shared roomCaitlinMy 5 year old and 8 year old share a smaller room. These beds allow them to still have space to play since they don’t need stand alone dressers. The 5 year old has the guardrail added for extra safety while the 8 year old just has the bed. They both love the cubbies for storing their toys and books. The bed was simple enough to put together. The first one took me about 2.5 hours while the second was about 2 hours. 5
Just bought 2KatherineThe design is great, but i do feel the quality out of the box is very cheap , it feels like it won't last that long. Thats disappointing! Really easy to break if you are not careful 3
Solid bed, great for small spacesAndrewVery pleased with this bed. The assembly was easy and it feels solid. Like the spacious drawers. We put two of these in one room and it really maximizes the space. I wish there was a way to access the underbed, but otherwise very happy with this purchase.5
Did Not LastMaureenWe bought two of these for our kids and after just a few years, both are headed to the dump. These do not hold up which is unfortunate because they are a good idea and save so much space but quality is super disappointing. 1
Great design, poor materialsSonjaWe bought two Slakt beds for our teen girls that share a small room. The dimensions and design are spot on! However, the materials have not held up. We noticed problems after just a few months. It’s been about two years and the beds are just barely hanging on. Such a waste of materials! It pains me to throw stuff like this away! My husband and I are regretting not spending the extra money/effort to either buy or make something made of SOLID WOOD. 3
Pretty and functional LisaLove it5
Time to update! RandyThe drawers collapsed. Yes the bed is like 4/5 years old but for the price I thought I was getting more bang for my buck! My son is 15 and weighs around 160LBS and he keeps thing he doesn’t use much like old toys, books, Pokémon cards and some clothes 2
Great bedAnn-MarieMy daughter really likes her new bed. It gives her the extra storage she needs.5
Perfect for my tween AmyPerfect for small bedrooms. 4
Solid bed once you fix the creaking RichardThis was a 4th birthday present for my son, who was very excited about his “big boy bed.” I also have a king-sized IKEA bed, so I am familiar with the frame & slats construction. Our bedroom shares a wall with our child’s room, and his first night in the new bed was a non-stop cacophony of squeaks and creaks. The next day I checked everything was tight, and found the sound only came from laying on the mattress and shifting my weight. IKEA customer service said there would be no problem returning the bed for a refund (disassembly and delivering to the store would be a huge undertaking) but I wanted to make the bed work. Various sources on the internet suggested lining the metal rails that support the slats with painters or masking tape, or putting felt furniture pads under each one of the 16 slats- I did both and the noise was eliminated. Very happy with the bed now (although my son rolled off the side once), but I recommend getting a set of felt pads prior to assembling the bed. 3
PerfectCindieI love the height of this bed! It’s a little confusing on putting together at first since you can literally put the shelves on any of the four corners. However, once you realize what to do, it’s easier than you would think. Perfect for matching beds in a room!5
Nice and solidErlaThis fit great for my kiddo, and had great storage with the drawers and cubbies. Easy to put together and very solid5
BedAnonymous reviewerBought this for my granddaughter. She loves it. She likes the drawers.5
ChallengingTerryMy granddaughter and I started this project and finished in one evening. My job was the directions and my granddaughter provided the muscle. The product definitely needs a numbering or alphabetical system. I’ve never counted so many holes to verify every piece. The end result is an amazing bed.5
99.9% perfect...LindseyThis bed is perfection. Plenty of storage, sleek look, the smaller room families - this is an amazing find. I thought assembly was going to be a nightmare, but it wasn't even 3 hours to put together. BUT. ONE THING: it be quite tall, lol. First night, he did fall out (6yo)..got a bumper to keep him secured in it, since he's still a mover in his sleep. But besides that, he's over the moon with the bed, and so are we! No creaking, no noise issues, drawers slide like a breeze and the storage capacity is top-notch. We have throw blankets, plushies and Legos in 2 of the drawers..the other two his whole wardrobe and separate bins, two shelves for smaller items. It's a gem of a bed. Can see him in this for many years.5
more colors please!LindsayGreat bed, perfect for kids/teens! Please start making this in more colors!!!!5
Mis hijas la amaronAntoniaSus cajoneras muy amplias, un poco tardando de armar la primera, con la segunda ya fue más fácil pero vale la pena5

Accessories for SLÄKT

SLÄKT Bed frame w/storage+slatted bedbase, white, Twin

For all kids who like to dangle legs

When we developed SLÄKT bed with storage, we had help from the world's leading experts at being children – children themselves. 10 children aged 8 to 14 got to see and test the first bed version. Sitting on the edge of the bed with dangling legs, they thought of very important and crucial points.

Anna Carme works with product development at Children's IKEA and came up with the idea of a bed with storage after having visited many homes of families with children around the world. "Many families have limited space and the lack of storage creates a lot of frustration. It can also be difficult for children of school age to find their own place where they can have their things close at hand."

Without hard edges and handles

Anna and her team presented a first version of the bed with shelves and drawers – without handles. "We know that children of this age like to throw themselves onto the bed and can get hurt from protruding handles", Anna explains. And of course, the children threw themselves onto the bed when the team invited them to a Kid's Lab, a structured method we’ve developed to hear children's opinions and feedback. When the children settled in and sat on the bed’s edge, their ideas started to flow. "A boy pointed out that he could feel the edge of the bed as he sat with his legs dangling", says Anna. “He also wanted to be able to "slide" off the bed easily."

A bed from a child’s perspective

"The other children agreed and of course they were right in wanting a bed to be comfortable to sit on too", says Anna. The children's opinions led to the edge being lowered. ”It was important for us to develop a bed from a child’s perspective. This is the way we do things at Children´s IKEA. By involving children in our product development, we can learn more about their needs and dreams – and how they get in and out of bed."

Material

What is fibreboard?

Fiberboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fiberboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.

Form design process

Created together with children

Children are the most important people in the world and we’re curious to hear what they have to say since we create products for them! Therefore, we invite children to creative and playful sessions where they get to participate in our product development. Here they can express themselves freely and draw, show or tell us what is important to them. Their opinions matter and make our products better. After all, they’re the experts!
