The entire pan, including the base and sides, has one layer of aluminum between two layers of stainless steel. This distributes heat evenly and energy efficiently from several directions and makes it easy to regulate.

Best Stainless on the MarketMaryThis appears to be a slightly updated version of the pan I’ve owned for nearly a decade. This stainless line of pots and pans from ikea is the best value cookware on the market. I have another set from a well known and highly rated brand and this is easily twice the quality. This pot in particular has been a workhouse for years but looks like the day I bought it. It’s the perfect size for most cooking and the clear lid makes it the ideal pot for boiling water quickly - you can easily tell when it’s boiling without releasing the heat to check. I would recommend this to anyone looking to buy cookware they want to hand down to their children. 5

Not flat on bottomJudySaucepan was not flat on the bottom but instead was raised up in the middle. For that reason, oil or other cooking liquid would flow to the outer edges instead of maintaining an evenly heated and/or oiled heating surface, especially on a ceramic cooktop. Ikea wants me to pay to send back this defective mail-ordered purchase. 1

My go-to. Wish they had different sizes!LizI use this just about every day. Works great on induction stove. Even heating, easy to clean. The little window helps figure out whether it is simmering or about to boil over. Handle never gets hot on an induction stove. Looks exactly like it did the day I bought it. No discoloration at all.
