Good to know

Even though laminate is a durable material you should never place hot pots or pans directly on the countertop without a trivet or pot stand.

Not suitable for use in damp rooms.

Not suitable for outdoor use.

Care

Wipe clean with a soft cloth dampened with water and a mild dish detergent or soap, if necessary.

Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Do not place a toaster, coffee maker, kettle or other kitchen appliances that emit heat directly over a seam between two countertops because the heat can damage the seam.

Always use a chopping board, never cut directly on the countertop with a knife. Never pull an object with rough or ragged edges across the countertop as it can scratch the surface.

To prevent permanent stains on the countertop, wipe clean spills or messes immediately with a soft cloth dampened in water and a mild washing-up detergent or soap.

Safety and compliance

Supporting legs are required when an overhang exceeds 10". The maximum distance between these legs should not be more than 32".

Lovely, strong and looks good, HOWEVER...GaylinSo first the good- it's very thick and beefy! No strength issues here! The color is a bit darker than I thought, which I'm glad for, as I originally wanted Ekbacken dark concrete effect, but they stopped making those. Now the not so great- there's not enough edging included to do a long side! I had to rip an island sized piece to do a slightly deeper countertop; I need edging along the entire length, but there is none! So I had to improvise and buy another to use as a waterfall effect that would come up high enough to cover the raw edge. The other thing is... it's VERY difficult to use as a backsplash to get a seamless, modern look due to its thickness. You lose a lot of countertop space and we had to use something different behind the sink, as it would have left no space for the large cut out required for our large sink. Which leads me to ask... WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THOSE THIN LAMINATE SHEETS WE COULD USE AS A BACKSPLASH?!?! Those were SO handy and easy!!3
LOVE this Counter, BUT!BenWe love this counter. It looks great, it's very thick (and heavy). It was a lot of work to get this installed. What I hate about this product is it only comes with one single end cut strip, the strip you attach to the cut ends of the counter. We cannot obtain/purchase more strips, from what I can tell there is no part number. Ikea support told us to go back to the store and they will give us some. Well, we did that last night. We drove over an hour each way to the store for them to tell us that they do not have any of these end pieces. Huge waste of time. Just return it then you may think. I really don't want to do that, I have many hours in getting this installation just perfect. To tear it all out and start over just because of the end strips not being obtainable? Ridiculous. Please take note. If you buy this counter and cut it on any angle, the one strip they give you will not be long enough to cover the cut, so you will have no way to make it look nice/ finished. Disappointed!1
