How to measure for IKEA pre-made countertops

Getting the right size pre-cut worktop is simple once you know where to start. For countertops against a wall, place your tape measure at the inside corner and follow the wall. Always start from the same corner to keep things consistent.

When measuring the depth of your pre-cut countertop, hook your tape measure at the wall and pull it toward you. Standard countertops extend a bit past the kitchen cabinets, so be sure to add an extra 1 ½” for overhang.

Wood veneer pre-cut countertops

Wood veneer countertops are made of a stable particleboard core wrapped in a thick layer of solid wood. The result has all the warmth and character of solid wood but is easier to install, stabler and more resistant to humidity. Wood veneer pre-made countertops can be sanded down to remove minor scratches, so they stay beautiful for years.
