A Great Value; Comparable to Discontinued LundtravWilliamWe've been using the now-discontinued Lundtrav feather-down pillows in a 15-room airbnb for 4 or 5 years now, They're great: puffy enough for side sleepers, compressible enough for stomach sleepers, and they go through the washer and dryer and come out just as good as they went in. Guests sometimes ask where we bought the pillows. I assume the new Pilspinnare pillow is intended as a replacement for Lundtrav, and I was anxious to see whether the quality is the same (at a price point about $5 lower). So far, so good. I have not tested the pillows in the washer and dryer, but they seem as amply filled and as fluffy as the Lundtravs. There's no smell. The only difference I've noticed is the cotton cover seems to be a little more lightweight than the cover on the Lundtravs. I'll be watching to see if that has any effect on wear or fill leakage. But right now, the Pilspinnare looks like a very solid replacement for the Lundtrav — and an even better value! We're pleased.5

How to care for your down/feather pillow

With a little care, you can prolong the life of your down/feather pillow and keep it fresh. The filling has a natural smell which can be reduced by airing or washing. Wash the pillow separately with a mild detergent (1/3 of the normal amount) on delicate cycle at 140°F. Avoid bleach/fabric softeners. Tumble dry immediately on low heat. A dryer ball or a high-quality tennis ball in the dryer make drying mor efficient. Air your pillow regularly, if possible, in direct sunlight.
