Perfect solutionDawnWe put in bookcases months ago and then discovered I had an allergy to dust mites. For some that would require removing books and another dust collectors. Instead, these easily installed doors made it possible to keep our library and look beautiful at the same time.5
Makes a great storage cupboardJaniceWe put a couple together and made a corner cupboard in our living room. Paperwork and office supplies are hidden and we can display our pretties!5
NiceJenniferWe do love it, however, we truly wish there is a soft close hinge for it. IKEA should offer for all of their items!4

Doors do not fit older style bookcaseJudyI bought these doors to add on to a Billy bookcase I bought a few years back. Sadly, the holes in the bookcase are not drilled to match the doors. How unfortunate that this was changed. The doors are now useless.1
Doors aren’t badGLORIAWhile the doors are great and easy to install. I’m a little disappointed that one of the doors I purchased is not flushed. It bows out at the top even with all the adjustments. While the other door was perfect4
All goodFrankAll good3
Great doorsJAs mentioned in my review of the smaller Oxberg doors, these look great on the Billy bookcases I have. My bookcases are older, though, and as such did not have the holes predrilled. I made my own template and it came out great.5
Bookshelf doorJulieLove the product! Had to wait a couple months for them to come in but it was worth it5
OxbergNathalie A.Love it!5
Worthless to buy since the Billy Bookcase is NEVER in stockMandyBought it and waited and waited for the bookcase to restock. Finally got an email it stocked. Go to the store and never was in stock. A complete waste of my time and gas. Took the doors back. Not worth it. I’m done with IKEA.1

Love them!Joan-HannahThey fit the Billy case that I had bought some time before perfectly. I like the option of having some of my books show and some room for privacy. I really like these doors!5
Pleased purchaserLindaWe have Billy bookcases with Oxberg doors in our entry hall. The top half of the Oxberg allows (dust-free) viewing of family memorabilia, while the solid lower section hides games, seldom-used glassware, even appliance manuals.5
This is the way toJoelThis is the way to dress up a billy shelf. I think it could be a little better quality for the price, but, it does make the self unit look much better.4

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
