Waste of money and timeJasonMy Billy bookcase must have apparently been bought before 2014 because the screws did not fit. This resulted in me have to go buy my own screws which after finally getting the hinges screwed on apparently did not line up. Very disappointed!
Terrible instructions SaraAfter lots of screws and sweat I installed the doors to realize they’re totally wonky. Searched the internet and found lots of folks in the same boat. Turns out one of the glass panels is longer than the other so now I have to uninstall and move the hinge. Glad I didn’t install the knob yet
Replacement pieceGwynethWe bought this to replace an oxberg door that had mysteriously shattered. It fits perfectly and the color matches our original Billy flawlessly. Just a reminder though we're replacing a 3 year old door which spontaneously shattered a glass panel when no one was nearby

Oxberg Doors for Billy BookcaseDanielPurchased these after a co-worker recommended that I enclose my bookcase to prevent dust. The glass panes are a great feature, and I picked up alternate knobs from a Home improvement website. Overall, great fit, and the new knobs (black zinc square design (1 1/16 | 27 mm, perfect fit).

Unsafe when used with Billy bookcaseDavidSelling this as a pairing is a serious design flaw and places the public at risk.
This door is unsafe when mounted on a Billy bookcase. The Billy bookcase has an 11" base. Therefore, the center of gravity is high. With the glass doors, the center of gravity moves forward, since the melamine backing does not provide an adequate counterweight. The bookcase immediately began to tip over on my wife and I when we opened the doors, even with heavy books on the bottom shelf. Thus, all support depends on the wall anchor.
Our home construction does not use wooden studs, so we would depend on dry-wall anchors. I would recommend that only toggle-locking dry wall anchors, rated for 100 lbs be used. With two, providing support for about 200 lbs of weight. For our home, in an earthquake zone, with risk of children climbing, it is not worth the risk. There are news reports of anchored IKEA furniture falling on toddlers.
I do appreciate IKEA's customer service making this easy to return.

What is glass?
Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
