Adding a door to BILLY bookcase gives it both a new expression and new functions such as hiding and protecting what you store.

Tilts to one sideBernardI originally thought this was a great buy...fast forward 6 months later it tilts to one side....Such a disappointment 😞. I'm trying to correct it but can't seem to figure it out.
Don’t recommend Anonymous reviewerBought 4 of these to try and cover my collectables and the installation is IMPOSSIBLE. The part where it clicks into the glass panel area is so tedious and it doesn’t work. One part snapped on me and then for the other, when I thought it was clicked in and secured, it fell off when I first closed the panel. I had to just close it, seal everything and cover it by boxes so it doesn’t fall. Here I am at 12am doing this review for it. If that doesn’t tell you how bad it is, i don’t know what else might.
Ignore bad reviewsShandaI had my billy bookcase for almost 10 years, 3 years ago I installed these doors as a fresh update when I moved to another city. They are easy to install and held up with daily use since then. I am looking to install either mirrors or fabric for another design refresh.
Poor quality metal frame and hingeNataliAt first, this door looked great, but the quality quickly proved to be disappointing. Everything was installed exactly according to the instructions. The first issue I noticed was the poor craftsmanship on the door frame—corners don't align cleanly, and it just feels cheaply made. Then the metal knob kept falling off, and worst of all, the hinges are poorly designed. They don’t hold the door in a vertical position, and within just two months, I already had to replace a couple because they seized up completely and wouldn’t open the door. This even caused the door to fall off the shelf, which is not only frustrating but also dangerous.
At this point, I’d like to return it and go with something more reliable—specifically, a door that uses standard hinges mounted into wood on both sides. This wood-to-metal system simply doesn’t work.

Double check color JamesI was under the impression this was black mirror the inset panel that goes in the door can be white or black, but not mirrored black it’s a miss guided picture/description
Not worth itDanielI don't know if I just didn't install them correctly or what happened but these doors do not stay in place. The hinges have consistently broken out of place and the door tends to slide down despite the holds that are put in place. Also, the white outlines of the doors ruin the display on an 80cm wide billy.

They work.ChrisIf you have an older Billy you will need to drill your own holes for the hinges. The holes in the older Billy don’t go from top to bottom and they have larger diameter holes for the shelf pins/brackets meaning the provided screws won’t work because they don’t have any material to bite into. This may not be the installation for just anyone with that being said. European hinges are a PITA sometimes but do offer a lot of adjustability. That being said the mechanism used to lock them into the door sucks. It’s a horribly cheap design and while they work they don’t feel the most secure. These are some expensive doors and they could have been better engineered.
