bad instructionsMichaelI'm writing this as a follow-up to a previous review. The problem with this product is that the instructions are horrible. The illustrations are too small and lack enough detail. The problem I identified with the two pieces of wood that form the upper crossbar of the headboard is that the instructions don't make it clear that there are two ways to orient the pieces. If you orient them the wrong way, it will be impossible to complete the installation. That is why some people are saying the installation is easy, while others (like myself) are saying it's impossible and exhausting. I'm not saying this is the only problem with the installation. It's possible there are other issues I didn't find because I didn't get far enough. But this one problem I've identified is enough for me to say this product should be recalled until the instructions are updated. Where in the world was the quality control on this product? Seriously? Did you just skip quality control completely???1
defective designMichaelThis bed is garbage. The instructions are inadequate, and so are the tools. I used a screwdriver to help me assemble part of the headboard and it was still exhausting and I'm sure I'm going to have bursting callouses tomorrow. The biggest problem I found, is that there is only one dowel to hold the upper part of the headboard in place. So while you are trying to screw the headboard together, the upper part keeps sliding sideways and as a result the screw enters at an angle and the wood keeps splitting. I don't understand how others claim it's easy to assemble. It's not. I've assembled desks and chairs and beds before, but this is just a nightmare. 1

Sturdy with a fabulous priceLeslieI was sleeping on the floor until I met Neiden. It's not extravagant, but it's sturdy and only took me two hours to build on my own (which isn't advised, but I managed okay). I would maybe wish for it to be another 3 or 4 more inches off the floor, but for the price I can't complain. 5
