UselessNatalieThis bed-frame does not come with slats making this frame virtually useless. I cannot believe the slats are sold separately. I thought the slats sold separately were extra as the wood did not seem very sturdy. Also the frame is just... it seems so flimsy. So disappointed.. my son can't sleep on this.
bad instructionsMichaelI'm writing this as a follow-up to a previous review. The problem with this product is that the instructions are horrible. The illustrations are too small and lack enough detail. The problem I identified with the two pieces of wood that form the upper crossbar of the headboard is that the instructions don't make it clear that there are two ways to orient the pieces. If you orient them the wrong way, it will be impossible to complete the installation. That is why some people are saying the installation is easy, while others (like myself) are saying it's impossible and exhausting. I'm not saying this is the only problem with the installation. It's possible there are other issues I didn't find because I didn't get far enough. But this one problem I've identified is enough for me to say this product should be recalled until the instructions are updated. Where in the world was the quality control on this product? Seriously? Did you just skip quality control completely???
defective designMichaelThis bed is garbage. The instructions are inadequate, and so are the tools. I used a screwdriver to help me assemble part of the headboard and it was still exhausting and I'm sure I'm going to have bursting callouses tomorrow. The biggest problem I found, is that there is only one dowel to hold the upper part of the headboard in place. So while you are trying to screw the headboard together, the upper part keeps sliding sideways and as a result the screw enters at an angle and the wood keeps splitting. I don't understand how others claim it's easy to assemble. It's not. I've assembled desks and chairs and beds before, but this is just a nightmare.

MehBrittanyIt’s a very very basic pine frame, which is exactly what I expected and overall I think is good for the price. I didn’t like the staples to the wood causing the wood to fracture and look v cheap in places. Otherwise, I’m a long time connoisseur of ikea furniture and this is the first one I’ve bought where the instructions were kinda crappy and it was made poorly. Two of the pre-holes for the long screws (the most important ones) were drilled too large, so the screw wouldn’t set and I had to maguiver it in place with gorilla glue, and two other pre-holes were drilled too small so I had to re-drill them myself to get the screw to go in. I’ve never experienced this before with ikea, they are typically pretty darn good, so I triple checked the pictures and fit, but it really was just crap made.

Better than I thoughtRhondaMy husband and I bought two and while putting the first one together had a bit of difficulty making sure all the pieces faced the correct way but we got it together and he put the second one together by himself. The bases are short but that's what I wanted. I purchased 8" mattresses to place on them and this makes the beds tall enough for my 21-year-old to still feel like an adult as she sleeps on it during her visits.

Perfect size LavonneMy previous bed was a queen so I wasn’t sure about downsizing but this bed works perfectly. No oversized headboard to waste space. Sometimes it squeaks, but I’ve never had a bed that didn’t.
