The furniture is made of acacia, a naturally durable and sturdy hardwood because of the high density of its wood fibers.

The furniture has been pre-treated to be better protected against sun, rain, stains and other wear and tear.

    Care

    The best way to extend the life of your wooden outdoor furniture is by cleaning it regularly and not leaving it outdoors unprotected more than necessary.

    Clean: Use a mild soapy solution. Wipe dry with a clean dry cloth.

    Maintenance: To prevent the surface from drying out and cracking, and moisture from penetrating into the wood, we recommend you to re-stain the furniture on a regular basis, for example once or twice a year.

    Storing: If possible, store in a cool dry place indoors. If the furniture is stored outside, cover it with a waterproof cover. After a rain or snowfall, wipe off excess water or snow from flat surfaces. Allow air to circulate to avoid condensation.

    To increase the stability of your furniture, re-tighten the screws at least once per season.

Can't get past Instruction #1 -- screw too short.MarthaThe first thing the instructions direct you to do is to use the middle-sized screw (of the three sizes provided) and join two pieces of the bench together. Problem is that the screw is too short! I had to go to the hardware store and spend $10 on a new set of (longer) screws. Aggravating, to say the least, although I did get the bench put together. It is solid.3
Impossible to assemblePamelaI thought this would be a good addition to my garden. With the help of 3 people I have still not been able to assemble it. The mid-size bolts seem to be too short, but they are the ones called mid-sized and are supposed to be used for what we are doing. It's also on the chintzy side, but what did I expect for under $100. I don't want to hire someone to assemble it.I would not buy this again. I've put many other Ikea pieces together with minimal difficulty. This is my rubicon.2
Love this benchBich ThuyI thought I'd have to buy cushions for this but it is very comfortable without them. It was fairly simple and fast to put together. I love the look. The size is perfect for my small deck. I like that it gives tons of room for one person but can still seat two people. It is sturdy but lightweight and it is easy to move. I find I spend lots of comfortable hours on my deck now that I have this bench. Currently it is my only seating for the deck. I plan on getting two more.5

Pretty easy build, good qualityCindyIt was a pretty easy build, just make sure you read the instructions & diagrams properly & don't skim like I do lol. Chair is good quality & sturdy, looks nice, & is pretty nice to sit in. Only other Ikea furniture I had before this was the Malm dresser that left a mess during unpackaging & building, but the Nammaro sets are pretty clean, which is a good plus (it's bc Malm has a lot of particle board). 5

Sometimes it’s good to be square

When we developed NÄMMARÖ, we asked ourselves: what’s the best way to create really comfy and affordable outdoor furniture? We found one answer to the question in the design. By basing the whole series on a simple geometric shape, we managed to lower the manufacturing cost. That’s good news for your wallet.

“We want NÄMMARÖ to be easy to both take home and live with,” says product developer Anders Adler. He and the development team found a part of the solution in a simple geometric shape – the square.

One look, many possibilities

“We designed a frame that looks like a square with small legs,” explains Anders. It’s a shape that’s used throughout the series, from chairs to tables. “The frame gives NÄMMARÖ a uniform and contemporary look. It’s also modular thinking that simplifies the production and lowers the cost. And since NÄMMARÖ doesn’t have any curved shapes, the products are easy to pack in flat packages.” It contributes to a lower price and saves valuable space during transport – all the way from the factory to the customer’s home.

Create your own oasis

In the NÄMMARÖ family, you find sun loungers and chairs for long and lazy days, sofas for many guests and tables for intimate dinners or big families. “It’s about finding what suits you and your needs. NÄMMARÖ creates possibilities – for both different outdoor spaces and wallets.” The furniture is relatively light, so you can easily move it if you need to make room for more guests or stow everything away when the outdoor season is over. “It’s one of those small but important things that makes the everyday life on your terrace or balcony more convenient,” says Anders.
