What truly sets the MYGGBETT apart is its fantastic value for money. You get premium performance without paying a premium price, which is rare in the smart home market. The build quality feels solid, and the minimalist IKEA design blends perfectly into any home décor.
If you’re looking for a fast, affordable, and future-proof smart sensor, the IKEA MYGGBETT is a top-tier option. Highly recommended!5
I use this for a mailbox door open/closeJohnI am able to hit the street from my livingroom DIRIGERA hub reliably. Build your mesh to extend range! I use Lithium batteries so they work over an extended temperature range.5
BrickedIanMy thread border router was offline when i tried to pair this sensor and it ended up in a permanently bricked state. The light pulsed amber which is not described in any of the documents and no amount of factory resetting and button pressed could get the light back to white and ready for pairing2
Home Assistant ApprovedRyanI've been using the IKEA MYGGBETT door sensor with Home Assistant. Setup was dead simple—pop in a AAA battery and it automatically enters pairing mode. Matter integration with Home Assistant worked flawlessly, and I had it triggering automations within minutes. The design is incredibly thoughtful: the Matter pairing code stays visible after mounting, and you can swap the battery without a screwdriver. It's been rock solid for monitoring doors and triggering my closet lights. For anyone running Home Assistant, this is an absolute no-brainer at this price.5
Works well and the price is unbeatableAndyI have been using SmartThings multipurpose sensors for years, but the battery life has not been great. I also found myself constantly buying batteries on Amazon and worrying about fakes. Since I already use Apple Home and it supports Matter, I decided to give these a try.
Overall, they work great. Setup is straightforward, though the QR codes you need to scan are printed on both the manual and the device itself. My only concern is that the print on the device could fade over time, which might be an issue if you ever need to re pair it to a new system.
Without the IKEA hub, I assume some of the smarter features are missing when connecting other IKEA products. If you are buying this on its own without the hub, expect solid integration and reliability, but more limited features. For the price, it is still an excellent value.5
Stable, consistent and inexpensiveJohnI’ve got four of these up now in the house, and they’ve been rock solid so far. Connection has been solid, nothing has dropped off the network, and notifications are very timely.5
Very NiceJamesThis was a big upgrade over a previous brand of matter sensor I had. The rechargeable battery is an important difference and it was very easy to set up. Works great in home assistant.5
Extremely easy to set up, and filled with very clever and thoughtful design choices.JustinI purchased these to replace the zigbee ikea contact sensors I had previously installed. They run on a standard AAA battery, the mattery credentials are printed on the side of the device and are visible even when mounted, the battery can be replaced and changed without removing the adhesive, and when removed, there is a separate battery door in place which keeps the battery locked even when removed.
I'm deeply impressed with the quality, responsiveness and effectiveness at this price point. Really feels like they've got a winner on their hands.
I'm running home assistant green as my matter controller, with google nest wifi, a nest hub, and home assistant operating my thread network.5
