MALM bed storage boxes work perfectly with MALM bed frame. They fit neatly into the space under the bed and will be flush against sides.
You can sit up comfortably in bed thanks to the high headboard; just prop some pillows behind your back and you will have a comfortable place to read or watch TV.

Major part missing both times I ordered this bedSusanCenter steel beam was not delivered with the bed. This took over a week to resolve. This happened to me when I ordered the same bed two years ago.
Cheaply made, do not recommend.MariaThe base boards come in two parts, the boards squeak every time you move. They are not sturdy. They are made with a sticker mimicking the appearance of wood. You can tell it’s thick paper sticker. Overpriced. IKEA quality has declined significantly. Do not recommend, you can get something much better and less expensive.
Wow never buying again from ikea CaydenceFirst of all the boards to hold up my bed are an absolute joke, it does hold my bed intact they fall anytime I get in my bed and make my bed uneven, now my drawers are breaking ? I haven’t even had this bed for 6months. And on top of that my QUEEN SIZE mattress doesn’t even fit it has a good inch and half I half to push it to the top so my pillows don’t fall in between. Looks like I half to buy a new bed

I hope my problem will be solved!RuslanaWe are currently assembling the bed, and overall we really like it. The quality is good, and it looks great. However, one of the metal support rails is too short, so it doesn’t reach the other side and cannot be installed properly. I hope this can be improved or replaced, because otherwise we’re very happy with the bed.
Not worth money very cheapElaynaThe way they have the bed built is very cheap and not sturdy at all. Got finished and the bed would move when you got on it gently. The problem was definitely the circle pieces, where you line up the arrow and rotate it. The return process was helpful but annoying after paying $58 in delivery.

Super Creaky and Loud.DelaneyI've had this bed frame for about 6 years now. The storage is nice but the noise is unbearable. The bed constantly squeaks with any movement. You can't even turn your head without loud creaking.
DisapointingGeorgeDoes not necessarily come with the Skorva rail which is needed to finish building the bed, so now I have to order that item separately and have a half-finished bed frame sitting in my bedroom until it arrives. The price of the Skorva was refunded to me but I would have preferred if the whole bed frame was cancelled or delayed rather than receiving a frame I can't finish assembling and takes up space in my bedroom.
Also it only comes with 2 storage boxes which kind of makes it look goofy because it has capacity for 4

Get the lönset slats!RichThe bed frame is great, meets all expectations. But I can’t rave enough about the lönset slats. I was convinced to shell out the extra cash for them by reading the reviews here, and I’m not exaggerating when I suggest they have changed my life! My sleep quality has improved in ways I didn’t believe possible, I’d always assumed only the quality of the mattress matters. Get the fancier slats!
Wish I was happierJordynLove the color love the size but after a month you can’t sit up sit down roll over breath to hard or the bed just makes the loudest noises and there’s about a two inch gap on each side of the bed between the mattress and frame.
Defective bed frame, unreasonable resolution after 5-hour assemblyZiyanI spent few hours assembling this bed frame exactly according to the instructions. Only after the assembly was almost complete did we discover serious issues: a bolt in the middle could not be tightened due to a defect, the bed frame is not level with the floor, and the included tool broke after minimal use. These are manufacturing and quality issues, not installation errors.
DO NOT BUY THIS KathleenTrust me on this - it squeaks and is shakey/unstable. Not worth it pick something else. The design is not stable and the underbed drawers are already broken after only a few months...Ive had other IKEA bed frames and they were great but this one is terrible.

Not badJamesIn general, I've been satisfied with this bed, having had it for over 3 years now. But one thing I dislike about is that the wooden support frame under the mattress comes in TWO pieces, rather than in one piece live the previous IKEA bed I owned. This creates a depression in the middle of the bed where I sleep, which I don't like. Otherwise, the bed is fine. (And yes, I have already contacted IKEA to see if I could buy a one-piece support frame off of them, but they say they don't make them for the MALM bed.)
Comfortable but very noisy, very disappointedDeniseDaughter picked out the bedroom set and hired task rabbit to build furniture, but bed is so noisy. I can hear the noise from any movement on the 1st floor or down the hall with the bedroom door closed. My daughter can’t study in bed and sometimes the noise even wakes her up! First and last bed purchase from IKEA. Will go back to higher quality manufacturer.
Horrible, frustrating bed!!!ElizabethPlease whatever you do DO NOT buy this bed! The wooden slats shift so easily and brake so I’m constantly rearranging them and have gotten horrible sleep from the slats falling down if I shift in bed. Especially if you have a smaller space, this bed is very frustrating to deal with because the drawers need a lot of space to open up. Because the mattress isn’t on a platform, changing bedding is soo annoying. Also, it’s very inconvenient to clean!! I’m sure there’s other beds that exist with storage that work better but this one for sure is a nightmare overall to deal with

What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
