EXTREMELY NOISYKimPlease help. I live 2 hours away from IKEA. Beautiful bed, but, this bed is put together, and holy cow, it is SO unbelievably loud. When looking under the bed, it seems that the bed slats rubbing against the metal rail that they sit on is what is making it so loud, like can be heard through the whole house loud. Yes it is assembled correctly, and the slats are on correctly as well. I can't just disassemble it all and lug it back another two hours. Anybody have any hacks for this? Please help!
-5 stars possible? LanceMy goodness…2 hours putting this together, wrong piece, wrong spot, turning it around, frame falls over. All to see you got 2 thin, skinny sticks to support if…Its like Ikea was like, “Oh this is a good frame! But we will give you 99% completion of the assembly of the frame and you gotta buy the bed slade…reaaaaaaaaaaaally? How the F will 2 metal sticks hold any matress??? Not just that but they give you screws to secure these metal sticks to the metal bed rail screwed on the sides of the bed frame…Ikea said, “NOPEEE” to any possible way fo secure the screw and metal stick on the rail. Its just meant to pop off I guess and risk the mattress to fall in. Ikea pictures of this frame made it look modern, cool, perfect! But i. Reality its a joke like a clown. Ill buy on amazon after returning this
Shin killerTomAssembly was easy and its clean and slick, but there is a little ledge on the frame that you will hit your legs on constantly. I can't even make my bed without hitting my shin a half dozen times.
MALM Bed frameMadeleineThese are very nice and modern bed frames and we have bought several. They are very durable and the color matches the other furniture we have. Despite their low price, they look quite elegant. Their height allows the robot to sweep under the bed easily and get rid of accumulated dust or hair. They also come with drawers for extra space, but I prefer them without drawers so that the robot can clean up easily.
Low bed twin VangieIt was a clear instruction from a YouTube video that I was watching to assemble this twin low bed and white & gray color is good.
Beautiful Bed, Has IssuesKateI have a lot of IKEA items and furniture, and nothing has ever disappointed until I made this bed. The bed rails would not lock-in, so the bed could honestly wiggle apart at any time. Tomorrow I’ll need to get some corner fasteners and braces that will hopefully hold it all together. It was a delivery item because I can’t fit the bed in my car, so there’s no way I’m taking it apart and taking it back. I hope the fasteners hold up and the bed stays together. This is an expensive error.
SO NOISY!Jillthese beds look great, but I can hear my kids moving in bed because the slats or something are so noisy! Also it was nearly impossible to install the metal rods under the bed slats. I'm not even sure if I did it correctly. Also not even sure why one need the metal rods since the slats are curved above it?
So-soKathrinePutting it together was the problem. I bought a twin size and on page 10 of the instructions it explains how to attach 2 metal rods (117228) with 5 screws (130507). That was impossible to do without an electric screw driver and a second person helping out. Please make this step easier!
Looks great easy to assembleMaxJust what we needed. Was easy to assemble and most important easy to clean under the bed. Finish is nice and very clean lines.
Awful setupChristopherThe storage boxes were easy enough to setup but the problem lies in the bedframe itself. Most of the holes are not cut properly and make building an absolute chore. I shouldn't have to feel like I'm breaking the frame just to make it all click together.
