This one doesn’t slide off the bed frameLeeBetween the LURÖY and this one, this one won’t slip on your bed frame even if you jump onto the bed from the side. I have the MALM bed frame with storage drawers and these are much sturdier than the other ones.
The only downside is that the assembly was quite time consuming for one person (even with power tools for screw assembly).
Some tips:
-Install the slats into the sleeves before you put them onto the frame.
-With my MALM bed frame (King Size) there was a small gap between this and the frame. Luckily one plank from a LURÖY installed on its side filled the gap quite nicely and this doesn’t slide around at all.
The Best One!TinaThis slatted bed base may be better than the other option being sold. We opted to buy this one, it feels like it contours to your body and movement. It's sturdy, comfortable with no issues.
SturdyAngelicaAbsolutely love these bed slats, I feel extremely supported in bed and my back pain has decreased. However, the instructions are so incredibly misleading - I’ve never had a problem with IKEA instructions but JEEZ please put a few words to help a girl out. Took way longer than expected to put together.
2 nights in and this really helps with back and shoulder painChrisWe have a pillowtop mattress on top of this and feels like I'm laying on a cloud. Lower back pain and shoulder pain seem to be gone and I'm now finding myself not wanting to sleep in anymore, as when I first wake up I'm fully rested.
Assembly was interesting. It takes a certain type of understanding to see all the clues in the Ikea instructions. They mention not to tighten both ends of the fixed slats until you have all the curved slats placed in. The allen key they give you is absolutely terrible, but if they give you a bigger one, an inexperienced assembler might strip the threads in the wood. I cheated and brought out the drill with a 3.0mm hex bit that matches the bolt, and used the clutch setting that prevents over-torquing.
I bought this 10 years ago, still going strongBenjaminYes, the assembly was a tribulation. But once you get through it, you're set. The slats don't move around on you, and they provide great support. They're easy to lift up and out of the way if you have a bed with storage space beneath. Mine have never squeaked or made any noise at all. Definitely a worthwhile purchase!
hard to assembleYiit took me 2-3 hours to put all the parts together and one of the bolts got snapped.
Sturdy and supportive bed baseRajivEasy to put together. Surprisingly sturdy considering its weight. I would recommend purchasing the higher slats for this base; these are available separately.
Very frustrating assemblyDavidHave yet to complete assembling this product (Two hours later and still completing first of two slats) and already recommend against purchasing. Nothing about this assembly process is worth the price or potential increase in comfort/quality/etc. I’m debating returning and just buying the standard Luroy slats at this point. Absolutely ridiculous to have to self-assemble these for $120 a piece.
;o) Assembly was easy, I cheated!WilliamFirstly, the base is stable and feels great under my hybrid mattress! The bowed slats in the rubber bushings is a great alternative to a quality box spring. To make assembly less tedious on myself I pre-threaded the slats in the correct order through the webbing and then popped the ends into the rubber bushings one by one. As for dealing with the support frame and infamous screws—I used my own Wera^(TM) hex driver bits and a pro-grade Makita drill/driver with adjustable clutch. Regardless, if you use the included hex wrench or your own tools a critical tip!—MAKE SURE THE HEX BIT GOES COMPLETELY INTO THE HEX SOCKET OF THE SCREW HEAD! The zinc plating on the screws is a bit rough. You have to push the hex wrench into the socket head of the screw firmly so it fully engages.
Comfy and supportive RebeccaBed frame was nice but this made it so much better. It is not squeaky or creaky like other products from different stores. We did assemble it wrong first but I blame that on us not paying enough attention. Instructions made assembly super easy
I went to therapy because of thisMathysI've been hitting the gym for the past 5 years of my life so that I could turn the screws 80% of the way and then have them strip. This is the first time I have ever had an Allen headed screw strip on the first pass. Don't forget to note that this product's black and white manual does indeed require you to pay attention to which slats are black and which are white. If I was building this with a partner, I know for a fact we would have broken up over this. Only buy this if your masochism trumps the physical and mental pain this will inflict upon you
Two stripped screws and a massive headacheKI used this with the stjarno queen bed. Like the title says, I had two allen screw heads strip on me during assembly, didnt think much of it, I had them in at least 90% of the way, the structure of the slats was solid, I wasn't going to sweat it. However when I went to put the two lonsets together in the frame of the bed, that maybe eighth of an inch COMBINED between the two stripped screws (one on each side of the bed) sticking out was enough to stop them from fitting in the bed frame entirely. I ended up having to use a wrench and rubber band to sink one in fully and a pair of pliers to rip the other one out it was so beyond being usable. Also, the allen key they give you to essentially flat drive into wood is smaller than the one they gave me to put together a monitor stand with pre-drilled holes? I had to grab my dads thick work gloves in order to keep driving the screws in and not to wreck my hands. Do not buy this.
Wish I could give this product 0 starsAnonymous reviewerPlease do not buy this product! This product takes FOREVER to put together and is unnecessarily complicated. I paid an extra $140 for this stupid thing when I should have just bought the $60 regular bed slats. I have put together many IKEA products in the past and have never had this horrible of an experience. They also fit oddly in the Malm bed frame I purchased. Mind you when I bought the Malm bed frame these were “recommended” to go with the frame. These are a complete scam. I will be disassembling and returning.
Unnecessarily complicated assembly ElizabethCan't speak to the performance yet, but the assemble of this was a nightmare. This was unnecessarily complicated and tedious and takes forever. It would be worth $100 more for something that takes 3 less hours to assemble.
The worst assembly, but stable I guessKellerThe assembly of this item is like being sent to ikea hell. Threading each slat into both of the belts and then into the assembled cups like the instructions say is a horrible option. Doing it this way took my partner and I over an hour of suffering. The little Allen wrench that is included will also tear up your hands due to the force you have to turn the wood screws at. The only pro of this frame is that it is incredibly sturdy after assembly (as far as I can tell).
Great product but why not list the dimensions Anonymous reviewerI know king and queen are king and queen and all but it would still help to know the exact dimensions of the two “half” lonsets that make up the king and queen.
FlimsyNodarafter 1,5 month of using it, I cat tell it is flimsy, started creaking on my side. And I am 165 pounds. I would not recommend this product to heavy people. Better consider the bed slats with a metal frame.
Sleeping on a hillKeithAssembly was difficult, but my main issue is that once in place it tilts the mattress to the left. I feels like I'm sleeping on a hillside or a mound. Everything seems fitted correctly, so it seems like a product issue instead of assembly.
Not as stable as I thinkJiaxiI expected this product to be more stable, but unfortunately it feels quite flimsy. The frame doesn’t offer the level of support I hoped for, and overall it doesn’t seem worth the price. Assembly was fine, but the quality just doesn’t match the cost. A bit disappointing.
