Very Shaky and Not Comfortable for StudyingSeymaI was very disappointed with this desk. It is quite shaky, which I did not expect at all. The setup was difficult without a drill, and even after assembling it carefully, the desk still feels unstable.
I am a student and I purchased this desk specifically for studying and working, but because it is so shaky, it is not comfortable to use. Stability is essential for a study desk, and unfortunately this one does not meet that expectation.
Simple to set up, sturdyAnonymous reviewerNot sure what the other reviewers are talking about saying it was difficult to install/set up. I'm a single female with not much experience building things and this took me maybe 10 min to put together. Legs were easy to install, no drill needed just screwed in the tiny screws. Seems sturdy, I work from home and have 2 monitors plus other desk items and it's sturdy and works great. Have had 2yrs now.
Impossible to installParthThis has to be the most unnecessarily difficult piece of furniture I have ever seen. As all the reviews say, the screw holes are too small and you either need to use an electric drill or have super human strength to assemble the legs. And after all the painful installation, you get a flimsy and light table that makes you question why you even visited the Ikea website in the first place.
Stinks probably due to formaldehydeChikan JI hadn't shopped at Ikea for almost a decade. Last week I went to purchase this table for my office. However, the chemical offgas was unbearable.
So I decided to leave it in the garage for 3 days to "vent out" the smell. But the moment I moved this back to my office it stinks again.
I've also wiped it many times with mild soap and water (top and bottom) with no help. Now I'm just running my air purifier on max.
Good make do work tableDeepakGood table to be used for a temporary work or casual dining. Sure gets dirty easily but can be cleaned with a wet cloth. Edges are sharp and needs to be protected with kids around.

Paint doesn't last longEdithaI really like the simplicity of this table, and it was so easy to put together. However, the paint doesn't last long and most corner is chipped here and there. I bought it about a year ago.

What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
