Board-on-frame is a strong and lightweight material with a frame in wood, particleboard or fiberboard and a recycled paper filling. It requires less raw materials and is easy to transport, which reduces the environmental impact.

Corners are extremely fragile, very cheap constructionPrithviI opened it up brand new and every single corner had been damaged in shipping.
The desk is made so cheaply with very little thought put behind the actual design of the desk. It's basically cardboard with some wood filler on either edge.
I wish Ikea would make a better engineered version of this desk for more money.
Just okKathleenProduct arrived damaged…no packaging support inside the box. Suggest pickup in store only…it’s difficult to return an item that size.
DisappointedAnaI received my table today, and unfortunately, it arrived with dents all over the surface. The packaging seemed intact, but the damage was significant. I’m very disappointed because the table looks far from new. I hope the company improves their shipping process to prevent this in the future.

It’s a table topMonicaThere’s not much to say about this table top. It’s exactly what it says it is. I combined mine with the Alex storage drawers and love that. The table top is a little challenging to get screwed into the alex drawers.

Needs mounting ability SamanthaThis needs to have an ability to work with the boaxel system. We were told by a shopping helper that it would but when we received it after waiting 2 months with the fire delay it did not so we had to wait even longer until we figured out a DIY option for the piece.

Table for multiple usesIvanI purchase this table to organize stuffs at home and use for my computer as desk. The size and appearance is great and now I decided to move to another area to keep computer and printer together. Highly recommend, is strong and light weight.
Screws are hard to clamp downLauraI had to drill deeper holes but only did that after the first one failed. One leg is a little loose and using a Phillips screwdriver tends to strip the screws provided

Arrived damagedJulieUnfortunately I cannot give this any stars. It arrived damaged and the replacement that was sent was also damaged. The process to return was painful. It took 5 phone calls to try and get a second return label which never arrived. I ended up having to cram both tops and legs into one box since they only gave me one return label. I love IKEA but I would never have something shipped from them again.

What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
