Great Bottles!LouiseI've been using these Korken bottles for several months. I use them mainly for homemade water kefir. The quality of these bottles is excellent! They are easy to clean, and are priced very reasonably. I give this homemade water kefir as gifts in these Korken bottles and all are so pleased with them and want to know where I got them. Thanks IKEA!5

Coquito bottlesLaurentgreat for holiday coquito5
Works great for storage and samples.Ray V.I bought these to use as taste testing sample bottles of something I’m making. For that they work great and the white plastic parts don’t retain any odors or colours. I am NOT using them to ferment anything, mainly because i am unsure it’s fermentation grade glass.5
Perfectly sizeWendyThese are so cute and perfectly sized for a cute little drink for a picnic, or gifting some flavored vinegars or oils.5
Great for breaking up bulk itemsSibillaI buy the giant olive oil at the big box store & store it in smaller bottles. I love the dark brown and green bottles to protect the oil from light. They seal up tight, fit easily in the fridge and are easy to open and close. Perfect!5
Rather reuse glassShawnThe bottle is good. Like that’s it is glass so it’s easy to clean and reuse. Only thing I would change would be to add a rubber disc at the neck for further leak control (if the bottle is on its side).4

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
