Not connecting with Alexa EchoTaiI bought other Matter products from them that connect with my Echo, but for some reason when trying to pair this, it won’t link. Alexa app says it’s not available to connect. Very disappointing and may return this soon if it’s not updated. 1
1 works OK, the other is a work in progressPaulThis may be an unfair rating as it may be a software issue on my end. I'm using these with Home Assistant, Matter via Thread. It is probably a software problem, but so far only one plays well.
Both work perfectly fine as stand-alone alarms. I'd like to get them to communicate with my home automation.4
Quick and Easy Water Leak DetectorRobertI bought the Klippbok and Myggbett as a test. They both connected to my system easily and work as they should. The price point was perfect. They only change I made was to upgrade to the IKEA rechargeable batteries. A little quick automation brought alerts to my phone and email. I am hoping for a smartplug and glass break (or glass break/motion sensor) soon! These will be perfect for automating an edlery parent's home so they are able to maintain their normal life style longer.5
Works GreatJasonI bought a couple of these and they were easy to integrate into my Thread border router and Home Assistant. Home Assistant told me about a firmware update and it was seamless to install. Working great so far.5
Works exceptionallyHamlinIt works setup is fast simple nothing to complain about and it works reports extremely fast -5
Constantly offlineChristopherI bought quite a few of these items and they are constantly disconnected or offline. I have a strong matter Network and the devices themselves seem to be the issue. Without a reliable connection, they are useless for their purpose.1
Can't disable alarm soundIgorCan't disable alarm sound. I want to be notified only without alarm from the device. Or, at least, control the volume.2
Couldn’t get it to workJohnsonI bought two and neither was able to connect to my IKEA smart app, the app detects it but just couldn’t connect. So I returned them.1
Won’t Work with Google Home Automations :{MatthewAs of 03Feb2026, I’ve been very disappointed with this device when used with Google Home. The “leak”/“water” and “no leak” / “no water” don’t show up as options when trying to use them for automations in the Google Home app, which makes the device near useless. The slight positive is that I can look in the app to see if there is a leak and the audio alarm does work, but again those leak/no-leak states are not available as selections when setting up automations. Hopefully, IKEA and/or Google can fix this soon.2
You get what you pay forMarkIKEA made a terrible mistake, switching to the matter protocol. None of these devices work on either Google or Apple thread router and consequently, you must buy the new IKEA hub. I have no idea how this would work if you bought one as I refuse to change out my entire ecosystem to accommodate big techs push to drive my data through the web. I question IKEA‘s ethics in joining the Matter bandwagon. Regardless of your political views, one thing IKEA has always had a great reputation for is being ethical and protecting the consumer. This shift in subsidizing home monitoring sensors to collect data through an insecure protocol rather than the more mature, more reliable and more private Zigbee 3.0 is not only unethical, it’s predatory and will have me thinking twice about making purchases at Ikea in the future. Luckily, this device didn’t work nor did the temperature sensor, and I could never connect. 1
TerribleSabineConstantly loses connection1
Works with SmartThingsDejanThis is my first Matter over Thread device and it works perfectly with SmartThings. Price is excellent and now all I need are Thread range extenders to cover the house. When will IKEA have available Thread outlets and Bulbs as these are needed to have a Thread mesh?5
Not For Serious Leak RiskBruceThe Klippbok is a very inexpensive leak sensor, and it sort of shows it. Sensor detection only on the bottom, not the top, make it questionable for some applications. I have several of Ikea’s new Matter sensors connected to Home Assistant. This one is by far the flakiest, going offline frequently, requiring me to pull and reinstall the batteries. Probably better in a Dirigera based application, but if it is Matter enabled it should work seamlessly with other Matter applications. Obviously a water leak sensor that frequently goes offline is not ideal. So I moved it to a place under a sink where leaks are unlikely.3
Works great.KevanInstant audible alarm on water sensing. Easy setup to HomeKit. Everything worked fine. I got a couple for different locations in the house.5
Works, fails to update firmwareJonasWorking as expected to detect moisture with Home Assistant. Except Home Assistant fails to update the firmware to latest version4
Worked with Alexa Show, but not DIRIGERA hubMichaelDid not work with the DIRIGERA hub that I bought; but luckily it did work with my Alexa Show and the setup was pretty easy.5
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ KLIPPBOK Water Leak Sensor — Surprisingly Solid in a Heavy Smart Home SetupEdgarThe KLIPPBOK leak sensor has been a surprisingly smooth addition to my smart home, even with 150+ devices already running. Setup was quick, Matter pairing was clean, and it joined the network without any conflicts or dropouts. For such a small, inexpensive device, it delivers fast, reliable alerts and the audible beep is strong enough to notice even in a busy space. Its simple, battery‑powered design makes placement easy—just set it under a sink, behind a dishwasher, or near a water heater and forget it. Despite the low price, it performs like a premium sensor and has stayed stable in a dense environment where many devices struggle. A solid, no‑nonsense leak detector that just works when you need it.5
Unavailable Requires Battery RemovalPhilipI have 16 devices and about 1-2 weeks a device becomes unavailable. When this happens the only way to recover is to remove the batteries and reinstall them. Overall i am happy with these devices, the installation and setup is easy and I have them integrated to Home Assistant via a thread router and matter integrations. I would give them a 4 star if I didn't have this issue and 5 star if they were more water resistant.3
Nice Smart Home AdditionMichaelPicked up the Klippbok to test out in an area where we can get some slight water leakage during a hard directional rain. It can be used with Apple Home but only indicates a "yea/nay" whether or not it detects water. Nice inexpensive option for a water sensor so far.5
Bought Three and All Three Working FineRichardI just recently had to clean up from a small flood due to a leaky sink drain. My fortrezz sensor didn't work. I bought three of these to go under sink, near washing machine and near water heater. I tested all three of them in a dish of water, not only did I receive instant alerts through Apple Homekit, you also heard an audible alarm that there is water. I would trust these over anything I previously had as even if the internet is down or your smart home isn't working you will hear the alarm.5
