Less Than 2 Months & Already BreakingCassidyI bought this for my daughter so she has a place to calm down and be left alone when she wants. She is almost 5 and fits in it well with room to spare. She loves the chair and I did too....at first. She doesn't sit in this all day every day, and often days go by without her sitting in it. The visor is already breaking. When she goes to close it, a terrible, loud, squeaky noise comes out and there is some resistance trying to close it. For $100 I expected this to be better quality. Very upset that it's already breaking and it hasn't even been a full 2 months yet

Fun chairJenMy kids love it! The base is difficult to connect. The red piece the other reviews are talking about doesn’t seem to fit easily. I was not able to do it myself. I held the base on while my husband tapped the red piece with a screw driver and it clicked right in. Hope that helps.

Second time ordering thisSheilaMy five year old helped me put this together in Less than 10 minutes. Our three year old also enjoys this chair a lot as did our 18 year old daughter and friends did with her friends when she was around their age. It’s a great place to read a book, have time alone or have another kid spin you. Someone’s always hiding in there when they’re playing hide and go seek. Lots of fun and doesn’t take up a lot of space. Recommend this. We wish they still had other colors. Recommend for kids 2 to maybe 10 depending on the height and weight of your kid. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!
Useless....base wont connect to seatDanielleI bought this today but as I tried to assemble it at home., but it was impossible to connect the base to the seat (the part that connects the two is not the right size to click into place). The seat is unsafe and unusable. I called customer service and their suggestion was to go back to the store (a 1hr+ drive each way). Clearly this is a recurrent problem but these units are STILL sold as is. Very disappointing.
Poor design - red seat partMelissaBummed to find while putting the chair together that the red part (part #10096522) doesn’t snap into the base like it is supposed to, which means the chair easily falls out of the base. Looked up the part on the spare parts page it is unavailable to order. So frustrated this makes our chair unusable!

Daycare Kiddos Love It!AprilAbsolutely cute and adorable. My daycare kiddos are all in their own zones when they close the egg. It can a little dangerous though, when the swiveling gets out of control. But for the most part, it’s low enough to the ground for the tiny tots or creepy crawlers (11m olds). Only thing I wish it had a swivel stopper so I can be on control of when I want it to swivel or stay in place to avoid our beginner crawlers and walkers from taking a hard fall once it swivels.

A cozy place with a twist
You probably know how childhood memories can stick and become almost magical snapshots in your mind. If you work at IKEA, these memories can inspire you to create new products. Like LÖMSK swivel chair. "As a child I was constantly doing handstands and I loved rocking and spinning. My father's armchair was enticing, so as an adult I had the idea that there should be swivel armchairs adapted for children," says our designer Monika Mulder. She wanted the chair to stimulate imagination, too. So she gave it a hood that can be pulled down to create a secret hiding place.
Since 2003, children throughout the world have spun, hidden and created their own cozy space in LÖMSK swivel armchair. Child psychologist Barbie Clarke, who has researched children and their development, has seen it act like a magnet to children. "Children love things that change into something else. It stimulates the imagination and gives a feeling of having magical powers. And spinning in the armchair is not just a fun game, it also contributes to important physical development,” explains Barbie. “When children climb, hang upside down, run, balance and spin, their sensory systems develop ─ particularly their balance.”

What is polyester?
Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.
