Need help fixing/ re-setting the motorized deskRajivThe desk inexplicably rises to its top-most position, on its own! IKEA's helpdesk have been very polite and gracious, but despite hours of talk-time to troubleshoot have been utterly unhelpful. I have also watched YouTube videos and followed advice from fellow Redditor that have had similar problems. However, at the end it all boils down to - "Go to the nearest IKEA store to get help". It is a pretty heavy desk to disassemble and carry. I have also tried calling the manufacturers of their motors (Linak) and found that their helpdesk is non-existent and help calls/ emails are redirected to IKEA. Please help.1

A wide, deep, and very sturdy desk with a thick worksurface at a great value!ChaseI was searching and searching for a wide, deep desk that did not wobble. I also wanted something with a decently thick work surface that felt premium and solid. I really wasn't trying to go over $500 and luckily after scouring multiple sights I found this. I was very skeptical at first, as I know IKEA to make flimsy furniture, but I was pleasantly surprised. The desk was incredibly easy to put together and it is very heavy which makes it great for my medium pile carpet. It feels firm and planted into the floor, rather than lighter desks which shifted back and forth on the pile in the carpet. I also love how it allows you to adjust the height. I do have two caveats. First, the cable organizing net is kind of a lost cause, very small and ineffective for my purposes. Second, the surface does have deep wood grains so dust, spills, and other debris gets caught very easily in it which can make it difficult to clean. Other than that it is fantastic and I would definitely buy this again.5

A solid work surface with lots of spaceMichealWe have been very please with the purchase. The build is on one of the more difficult sides of IKEA products simply because of the weight involved. It's otherwise not difficult to assemble as long as you have the space to flip the table over, etc, while assembling. The table itself has many height adjustments and has become an ideal desk surface.5

Simple & Good Study/Gaming TableFaisalMy 12 year old selected this from the vast choices available as a good and simple option for a study/gaming table. He chose the black/dark gray combination (L=63"x W=31 1/2"). It is large enough to fit a 27" monitor for study/gaming and still allows enough space for spreading a text book/note book for writing. The assembly was easy. I let him complete the entire assembly himself and then double checked the assembly and tightened the hex screws. The table is typical particle board but the legs are very sturdy. A rail for cable management is also provided. Overall, a good product commensurate to the cost and utility.5

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
