Great frame HeatherMy husband and I love our new bed frame! We really appreciate how we can set the box spring to be at different heights. We always wanted a higher bed than we had before, and this allows us to have high or as low as we wanted it to be. It looks fabulous in our bedroom and the matching nightstands really bring at all together.

Nice looking but… JaimeI love the way it looks. It’s very difficult to make up. My biggest issue is how much it pops and creeks. I have the same bed in a full size and it doesn’t make a sound. This king size one though makes all kind of noise. Every time my spouse turns or moves the noise wakes me up. I can hear when he moves in it from the living room. Really disappointed in the quality of this one vs the full size one we have.

Great looking bed frameKrystleI have had my eye on this bed frame for a while now. Its durable and fits nicely with my other HEMNES pieces in my bedroom. Because its wood, my only complaint is that it creaks and cracks frequently but I'm hoping overtime that works itself out. Very easy to put together, took maybe 35-45 mins.

Great bed frameJenniferWe purchased this bed frame in 2011 and we will are using it in 2025. In fact, we just purchased a king size one. This bed has been through a lot and it’s held up VERY WELL. we love the Hemnes series as we have 2 bedrooms outfitted in it. I would recommend this bed to everyone.
Great product ClareAlthough we had had some questions because of some poor reviews in the past, we’ve been very happy with this bedframe. I think maybe people struggle with how to put it together and that’s the source of some of the poor reviews .But we are IKEA furniture assembly pros at by this point, we’ve put so many things together! Very happy with this bed and the resulting makeover of our bedroom.
HemnesCharlesHemnes is a functional bedframe. It supports my wife, myself, and intermittent kiddos (nightmares, sick etc) throughout the night.
Don’t buy it NischaMy husband and I bought this bed frame in the fall of 2022. It seemed to be okay though the components that hold up the mattress seem questionable as they don’t have any sort of support on the ground.
Fast forward a little over 2 years and both sides of the frame have big deep cracks in them, that will break any moment you put weight onto the bed. The bed is no longer safe to sleep in and IKEA won’t don’t anything about it. In questions and answers they say weight shouldn’t exceed 600 lbs—not including the weight of the mattress.
We have done everything right yet here we are with a broken frame.

Great Bed!MarkThis is a fantastic bed. Great value for your $. I’m buying another. First was damaged by wheelchair when I had vascular necrosis. Wheelchair hit side of bed many times. Definitely not a flaw in construction. I think bed would have lasted many, many years had it not been for my health issue Hopefully no medical issues this time. Fingers crossed.

SQUEAKS OMGJuliaWow I’ve been going mad wondering what’s been squeaking. I thought it was my brand new mattress box spring or something. Lo and behold these reviews have given me my answer. As if I didn’t have enough complaint about this bed…and now it squeaks. Not only am I constantly having to push the base board/head board and side boards all back in and in line bc they’re ridiculously unsturdy, now it also squeaks? And I’ve only had it for 6 months… actually insane.
The worst squeaky bedTeI've had my HEMNES bed for two years and it has always squeaked. Please IKEA give me a fix to make it stop squeaking! It is driving me crazy.
Low quality headacheAdamMultiple parts on this product (headboard and side rails) have hole that are incorrectly drilled. Best case scenario you’ll need someone with tiny fingers to attach nuts in an unnecessarily small opening, worst case you’ll be having to take it apart and start from scratch
