Use a cord set to easily adjust the length of the cord for your pendant lamp. When the lamp hangs at the perfect height, gather the remaining cord in the ceiling cup and then mount it tight to the ceiling.

Mounting Bracket issueKailaIf you live in the United States and live in a new home, the mounting bracket with hook provided will not work. The provided screws are too slim to fit into the socket and the pre drilled holes are too small to fit standard sized screws. We had to go to the hardware store and purchase a sliding “X” shaped mounting bracket to mount the provided mounting bracket to. Or you will need to drill new holes into the provided bracket with hooks. 2
This is not made for US standard sizePeterIf you are in the US, the plate will not fit the ceiling electrical housing. Do do not buy it if you are in the USA. 2
Requires Modification to Fit US Outlet BoxDavidThe Hemma provides a mounting plate with a hook. The mounting plate has two slots so the plate can be attached to the electrical outlet box. The plate screw slots are 3 inches diametrically apart. Unfortunately, the mounting lugs on the outlet box in the ceiling are 2-3/4 inches apart. I had to drill two holes in the plate to attach it to the outlet box. The mounting plate screw slots should be rotated 90 degrees so the plate can be attached to outlet box lugs that are less than 3 inches apart. The design of the Hemma is also not ideal for angled ceilings. Light fixtures suspended from angled ceilings usually have mounting plates or escutcheons with ball fittings to enable the suspension cord or pole to rotate so it is perpendicular to the floor. The Hemma mounting plate cover causes the electrical cord to bend to the vertical causing an odd appearance and stresses the cord. 4
