Be Careful With Non-IKEA MattressesSeanI bought the full size version of this bed for my grandfather to use in his nursing home, and we bought a standard full sized mattress from another brand. Well turns out that IKEA makes their full beds support 53 1/8" wide mattresses when the standard full width mattress is 54" and we can barely fit his mattress in there! This makes it very difficult to remove the sheets and put them back on. Sure, I get mattresses can vary slightly from the standard, but seems like you'd want to play it safe and go slightly larger on the frame if anything. Looking at IKEA's mattresses, they all say they are the 53 1/8" width, so just seems like a way to get you to buy their brand to me.2
