Dishwasher terribleDanielSpaces are too small for thicker dishes, it will not drain properly after 1 month. Having trouble getting service on this appliance. 1
Literally the worst diswasher in the history of manEmilyWe bought this to replace our last ikea, panel-ready, dishwasher which lasted 8 years.
This is the worst designed dishwasher.
1) The design of the slots/racks for holding plates/bowls is way to narrow (or too wide for bowls). The rack does not fit most of the plates in our house, even the ikea ones. The entire inside of the dishwasher is generally unfunctional for holding your dishes. Absolutely awful... words cannot describe.
2) Who thought it was a good idea to make the panel slide out 5 inches above the front of the diswasher when you open it?? This will in my opinion obviously/eventually cause damage to the cabinet panel at some point due to water spills or a clumsy teen, even with the stickers to cover the cabinet door holes... (+ it looks like garbage with the stickers). I imagine this will innevitably be a huge fail.
Why remake the wheel?
Thouroughly disappointed. I can only hope this fails before the warranty expires... and we get a differnt one as replacement. 2
Horrible horrible layoutBálintThe racks in this dishwasher are just horribly wrong. I think whoever designed this, never actually tried to load it in a real-life scenario. Everything is off somehow (and we're using mostly IKEA plates and glasses).
We swapped an earlier IKEA dishwasher for this, which died (and flooded the panels with it) - but the front panel is mounted very differently. Two issues: a cutout in the panel (which the IKEA kitchen installer mistakenly did but then was covered with the earlier dishwasher) is now visible as the front panel slides, with respect to the dishwasher front. Two, because of this sliding the buttons panel is harder to reach. Horrible idea!
Quite a pity, really, because so far it washes up quite well. Good engineers, idiotic designers.
NB: I seriously think that IKEA needs to redesign the racks and then make them available for whoever bought this model. It's that bad.
(BTW, I tried to use proper paragraphs in the review, but IKEA's wonderful portal just pushes it together.)3
not user friendly nor planned wellSeanThe slots are so thinly set together that you can't get in a normal plate unless you're eating off of something as thin as a sheet of paper with no lip. Also, it doesn't dry well. Im gonna attempt the extra dry to see if it makes any difference. I like the timer showing on the floor. It looks good closed matching the cabinets but id rather have one that didn't match to get something that makes sense. The hieroglyphs to figure out how to start it up are as bad as trying to figure out how to put Ikea cabinets together. Absolutely terrible. I dont know who they designed this around. Do europeans eat on thin plates?2
Ugh. Looks like a giant hassle. And a return. MaryBeen to three hardware stores to find the “ elbow” piece, including a specialty plumbing company in a metro city… Doesn’t seem too be made. Called IKEA and they can’t provide dimensions for this piece that the customer needs to shop for; in fact, when I called Ikea customer service, I was told to Google it or try Amazon…… no answers for when I said I’d tried both. Boo Ikea. 1
Slots nothing fits inThomasGot this when our previous model (Renlig) burnt out a couple of pumps when our water heater released a bunch of scale into the pipes. We needed the panel front capability. The Fornaboda does a good enough job cleaning. It is quiet when running until it explosively drains at the end of the cycle. I thought our son and daughter-in-law's Bosch was a mystery about loading. If so, it is rather like tic-tac-toe compared to this Rubic's cube. Slots too narrow for any plates except glass with no foot on them. Racks for glasses that are too narrow for any except one type of glass in our cupboards. All others sit precariously balanced against each other. I find it hard to believe that Ikea designers were involved in the rack design, it is Baroque not functional modernist. 3

1 Star Is Too ManyDerekReally, if I could give this dishwasher zero stars, I would. Other than the horrendous installation instructions with lack of detail, even IKEA-brand dinner plates do not fit height-wise in the bottom rack without the water propeller hitting the tops of them and jamming.. which equals, you guessed it, dirty dishes! Any cutlery or accessories placed in the top most rack did not get clean and had to be washed by hand after a 3-hour long cycle. Garbage build quality compared to the models put out 5-10 years ago. 1
