Pan shatteredEllieI used the pan for a pasta dish I have made many times in this pan. At 400°f the pan shattered with a crack straight down the middle. Thankfully it didn't start leaking until the pan was fully out of the oven but completely ruined my food!1
First and last time in the ovenHelenCracked down the middle today. In a 400 degree Fahrenheit oven. Now I have a quarter of a cup of olive oil on the bottom of my oven. DOES NOT WITHSTAND 536 DEGREE TEMPS.1

Material

A tougher type of glass

Borosilicate glass can handle conditions that are a bit too tough for ordinary household glass. It’s very impact and scratch resistant and withstands rapid temperature changes, allowing you to take it directly from the freezer to the oven – or vice versa. And if it somehow breaks, it shatters into large pieces with less risk of someone getting hurt. Simply a tougher type of glass.
